Why? Because it is more relevant than ever, given the latest race card hysteria, by the NAACP. Given it was a link love post, it is interesting how many of my blogger friends were also observant of the Katrina race card, being abused for political purposes.

This is an Insolublog link love letter on recent events. My sidebar readers can look for their links within the content. If I didn't include you, it wasn't personal. (Katey you need permalink capability.) I was looking for recent posts which fit the theme. The theme concerns all of the absurd accusations of racism in the Katrina disaster.

If we had MLK's dream in mind, it would be illegal to ask a persons race on a job application. Gathering racial statistics is never used for its quoted intention, to keep a level playing field. It's used and abused like a blunt force weapon, in race based extortion and promotion. The population race statistics are being used in the same way, by all of the usual Professional Victims.

The only white racists are the ones who shackled poor minorities, in the chains of government entitlement programs.

The only white racists are the ones who told them they don't need to achieve, because the government will take care of them.

The LBJ war on poverty produced projects, not progress; There are genuine statistics to prove that assertion and its failure to produce any self sufficient results, like no reduction of poverty. A self sufficient person becomes a wealth producer in society. They do not become the recipient of another producer's wealth.

Here are the gifts of the LBJ and Robert Byrd style democrat:

No property ownership.
No social status.
No paternal family accountability.
No choice in education, other than the incompetent government bureaucratic one.
No useful, merit based training in economic responsibility. (Which is why they go off buying $800 purses with food money)
No dignity.
No long term hope of stability.
No concept of American opportunities. Only a head full of resentment and a stagnant pessimistic heart.

What they get is a hand to mouth check from the government. How can the poor ever be anything but poor, under these physical and psychological conditions? Opportunity means hard work, not handouts. But when you are free to have it and it lies before you, you are responsible to make the future you want. This means taking risks. This means working hard. This means you might fail, and it might be hard to get up!

The real white racists just give the poor minorities a meager stipend, a pat on the head, instructions on who to vote for and a smelly bus ride to the polls.

So what type of government do you get, when this vote is given form and function? It wasn't conservative white politicians who dropped the ball here. I would remind our friends from the left that poor african Americans are not minorities in the city of NO, because they are in the majority!

Was the mayor of NO white?
Was the governor of LA a member of the conservative blogosphere?
Are the looters we see in most of the pictures, like Dr. Phat Tony's post, white?
Was William Jefferson, who diverted National Guard rescue resources, to pick up luggage at his home, a white congressman?
Are those all white officials and community 'leaders' pushing their faces in the cameras and hurling racial epithets?

Where are the re-builders in this list?
Where is the leadership?
Where is the shared accountability and multicultural unity they like to lecture us about?
Who was stepping up to be a source of positive action before, during and after Katrina?

This is the government freely chosen , through the democratic voting process, by the same souls supposedly empowered by liberal social programs. Is this is what the taxpayers want and expect for their entitlement dollar? As soon as the government checks are interrupted, the hand is bitten. The hand is then stitched back up and stuck right back in the jaws of the Pitt Bull's mouth. We are then told that we are duty compelled to feel sorry for the Pitt Bull, since we made him the vicious dog that he is. You know what? We didn't make him that way, the liberals did.

What about Ivan? What about Charlie? What about the Mississippi floods? Those poor, underprivileged Americans picked themselves up and moved on with their lives. They were given no more consideration by the federal government than any other red blooded American hit by a natural disaster.

It looks like the only government official taking verifiable large scale corrective action to fix the NOLA problem is a compassionate conservative white guy named George Bush!

But that's what the liberal argument is about, isn't it? It is about hating Bush, with a hate that blinds them and delights us. I hope they keep kissing the posteriors of Michael Moore and Howard Dean.

Show me any of the Solons, over in that aisle, lifting a real genuine finger, to help these people, instead of churning them through the media hate machine. No, they throw scraps at them for a camera shot, all the way from DC to Hollywood. Bush is the only man pushing for increased home ownership in the rebuilding process.

It is scaring the hell out of the American left. Oh No! Their base might actually walk off their government emotional debt slavery plantation. I would cite Uber's post on the recent ABC segment immediately following Bush's speech, as proof of a new sun rising on the horizon. Thank God the decades of pimping poverty for politics, are ending in this country.

Hu Jia and Teng Biao, wrote a letter about China, prior to the Chinese Olympics. After it was published, Hu Jia was beaten and arrested. He was then imprisoned with the charge "inciting to subvert state power".

This week, a Beijing court sentenced human rights activist Hu Jia to 3 1/2 years in prison for subverting state authority and to one additional year's loss of his "political rights." He was arrested in part for co-authoring, with Teng Biao, an open letter on human rights. Below, The Post printsHuman Rights Watch's translation of the Sept. 10, 2007, letter.

On July 13th 2001, when Beijing won the right to host the 2008 Olympic Games, the Chinese government promised the world it would improve China's human rights record. In June 2004, Beijing announced its Olympic Games slogan, "One World, One Dream." From their inception in 1896, the modern Olympic Games have always had as their mission the promotion of human dignity and world peace. China and the world expected to see the Olympic Games bring political progress to the country. Is Beijing keeping its promises? Is China improving its human rights record?

When you come to the Olympic Games in Beijing, you will see skyscrapers, spacious streets, modern stadiums and enthusiastic people. You will see the truth, but not the whole truth, just as you see only the tip of an iceberg. You may not know that the flowers, smiles, harmony and prosperity are built on a base of grievances, tears, imprisonment, torture and blood.

We are going to tell you the truth about China. We believe that for anyone who wishes to avoid a disgraceful Olympics, knowing the truth is the first step. Fang Zheng, an excellent athlete who holds two national records for the discus throw at China's Special Sport Games, has been deprived of the opportunity to participate in the 2008 Paralympics because he has become a living testimony to the June 4, 1989[,] massacre. That morning, in Tiananmen Square, his legs were crushed by a tank while he was rescuing a fellow student. In April 2007, the Ministry of Public Security issued an internal document secretly strengthening a political investigation which resulted in forbidding Olympics participation by 43 types of people from 11 different categories, including dissidents, human rights defenders, media workers, and religious participants. The Chinese police never made the document known to either the Chinese public or the international community.

Huge investment in Olympic projects and a total lack of transparency have facilitated serious corruption and widespread bribery. Taxpayers are not allowed to supervise the use of investment amounting to more than $40 billion. Liu Zhihua, formerly in charge of Olympic construction and former deputy mayor of Beijing, was arrested for massive embezzlement.

To clear space for Olympic-related construction, thousands of civilian houses have been destroyed without their former owners being properly compensated. Brothers Ye Guozhu and Ye Guoqiang were imprisoned for a legal appeal after their house was forcibly demolished. Ye Guozhu has been repeatedly handcuffed and shackled, tied to a bed and beaten with electric batons. During the countdown to the Olympic Games he will continue to suffer from torture in Chaobei Prison in Tianjin.

It has been reported that over 1.25 million people have been forced to move because of Olympic construction; it was estimated that the figure would reach 1.5 million by the end of 2007. No formal resettlement scheme is in place for the over 400,000 migrants who have had their dwelling places demolished. Twenty percent of the demolished households are expected to experience poverty or extreme poverty. In Qingdao, the Olympic sailing city, hundreds of households have been demolished and many human rights activists as well as "civilians" have been imprisoned. Similar stories come from other Olympic cities such as Shenyang, Shanghai and Qinhuangdao.

In order to establish the image of civilized cities, the government has intensified the ban against -- and detention and forced repatriation of -- petitioners, beggars and the homeless. Some of them have been kept in extended detention in so-called shelters or have even been sent directly to labor camps. Street vendors have suffered brutal confiscation of their goods by municipal agents. On July 20, 2005, Lin Hongying, a 56-year-old woman farmer and vegetable dealer, was beaten to death by city patrols in Jiangsu. On November 19, 2005, city patrols in Wuxi beat 54-year-old bicycle repairman Wu Shouqing to death. In January 2007, petitioner Duan Huimin was killed by Shanghai police. On July 1, 2007, Chen Xiaoming, a Shanghai petitioner and human rights activist, died of an untreated illness during a lengthy detention period. On August 5, 2007, right before the one-year Olympics countdown, 200 petitioners were arrested in Beijing.

China has consistently persecuted human rights activists, political dissidents and freelance writers and journalists. The blind activist Chen Guangcheng, recipient of the 2007 Ramon Magsaysay Award and named in 2006 by Time Magazine as one of the most influential 100 people shaping our world, is still serving his sentence of four years and three months for exposing the truth of forced abortion and sterilization. The government refused to give him the Braille books and the radio that his relatives and friends brought to Linyi prison in Shandong. Chen has been beaten while serving his sentence. On August 24, 2007, Chen's wife, Yuan Weijing, was kidnapped by police at the Beijing airport while waiting to fly to the Philippines to receive the Ramon Magsaysay Award on behalf of her husband. On August 13, 2007, activist Yang Chunlin was arrested in Heilongjiang and charged with subversion of state power "for initiating the petition 'Human Rights before Olympics.' "

China still practices literary inquisition and holds the world record for detaining journalists and writers, as many as several hundred since 1989, according to incomplete statistics. As of this writing, 35 Chinese journalists and 51 writers are still in prison. Over 90 percent were arrested or tried after Beijing's successful bid for the Olympics in July 2001. For example, Shi Tao, a journalist and a poet, was sentenced to ten years in prison because of an e-mail sent to an overseas website. Dr. Xu Zerong, a scholar from Oxford University who researched the Korean War, was sentenced to 13 years' imprisonment for "illegally providing information abroad." Qingshuijun [Huang Jinqiu], a freelance writer, was sentenced to a 12-year term for his online publications. Some writers and dissidents are prohibited from going abroad; others from returning to China.

Every year in mainland China, countless websites are closed, blogs deleted, sensitive words filtered. Many websites hosted abroad are blocked. Overseas radio and television programs are interfered with or strictly prohibited. Although the Chinese government has promised media freedom for foreign journalists for 22 months, before, during, and after the Beijing Olympics, and ending on October 17, 2008, an FCCC [Foreign Correspondents Club in China] survey showed that 40 percent of foreign correspondents have experienced harassment, detention or an official warning during news gathering in Beijing and other areas. Some reporters have complained about repeated violent police interference at the time they were speaking with interviewees. Most seriously, Chinese interviewees usually become vulnerable as a result. In June 2006, Fu Xiancai was beaten and paralyzed after being interviewed by German media. In March 2007, Zheng Dajing was beaten and arrested after being interviewed by a British TV station.

Religious freedom is still under repression. In 2005, a Beijing pastor, Cai Zhuohua, was sentenced to three years for printing Bibles. Zhou Heng, a house church pastor in Xinjiang, was charged with running an "illegal operation" for receiving dozens of boxes of Bibles. From April to June 2007, China expelled over 100 suspected U.S., South Korean, Canadian, Australian, and other missionaries. Among them were humanitarian workers and language educators who had been teaching English in China for 15 years. During this so-called Typhoon 5 campaign, authorities took aim at missionary activities so as to prevent their recurrence during the Olympics.

On September 30, 2006, Chinese soldiers opened fire on 71 Tibetans who were escaping to Nepal. A 17-year-old nun died and a 20-year-old man was severely injured. Despite numerous international witnesses, the Chinese police insisted that the shooting was in self-defense. One year later, China tightened its control over Tibetan Buddhism. A September 1, 2007, regulation requires all reincarnated lamas to be approved by Chinese authorities, a requirement that flagrantly interferes with the tradition of reincarnation of living Buddhas as practiced in Tibet for thousands of years. In addition, Chinese authorities still ban the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet and a world-renowned pacifist, from returning to Tibet.

Since 1999, the government has banned many religious beliefs such as Falungong and the Three Servants. Their followers have experienced extremely cruel and planned persecutions. Many died from abuse, suffered torture, brainwashing, imprisonment and labor camp internment for persisting in their faith, possessing religious books, making DVDs and writing articles to expose the truth of the persecution.

China has the highest death penalty rate in the world. Execution statistics are treated as "state secrets." However, experts estimate that 8,000-10,000 people are sentenced to death in China every year, among them not only criminals and economic convicts, but totally innocent citizens, such as Nie Shubin, Teng Xingshan, Cao Haixin and Hugejiletu, whose innocence was proven only after they were already dead.

Another eight innocent farmers, Chen Guoqing, He Guoqiang, Yang Shiliang, Zhu Yanqiang, Huang Zhixiang, Fang Chunping, Cheng Fagen and Cheng Lihe, who confessed their "crimes" after being cruelly tortured by the police, have been sentenced to death and are currently held in prisons in Hebei [province] and in Jingdezhen [in Jiangxi province].

Torture is very common in China's detention centers, labor camps and prisons. Torture methods include electric shock, burning, use of electric needles, beating and hanging, sleep deprivation, forced chemical injection causing nerve damage, and piercing the fingers with needles. Every year, there are reported cases of Chinese citizens being disabled or killed by police torture.

Labor camps are still retained as a convenient Chinese system which allows the police to lock up citizens without trial for up to four years. The detention system is another practice that the police favor, freeing them to detain citizens for six months to two years. Dissidents and human rights activists are particularly vulnerable targets and are often sent to labor camps, detention centers or even mental hospitals by authorities who want to simplify legal procedures and mislead the media.

China has the world's largest secret police system, the Ministry of National Security (guo an) and the Internal Security Bureau (guo bao) of the Ministry of Public Security, which exercise power beyond the law. They can easily tap telephones, follow citizens, place them under house arrest, detain them and impose torture. On June 3, 2004, the Chinese secret police planted drugs on Chongqing dissident Xu Wanping and later sentenced him to 12 years' imprisonment for "subversion of state power."

Chinese citizens have no right to elect state leaders, local government officials or representatives. In fact, there has never been free exercise of election rights in township-level elections. Wuhan resident Sun Bu'er, a member of the banned political party the Pan-Blue Alliance, was brutally beaten in September 2006 for participating as an independent candidate during an election of county-level people's congress representatives. Mr. Sun disappeared on March 23, 2007.

China continues to cruelly discriminate against its rural population. According to the Chinese election law, a farmer's right to vote is worth one quarter of that of an urban resident. In June 2007, the Shanxi kiln scandal was exposed by the media. Thousands of 8- [to-]13[-]year-old trafficked children had been forced to labor in illegal kilns, almost all with local government connections. Many of the children were beaten, tortured and even buried alive.

The Chinese judiciary still illegally forbids any HIV/AIDS lawsuits against government officials responsible for the tragedy. AIDS sufferers and activists have been constantly harassed by the secret police.

The Chinese government has been selling arms and weapons to Darfur and other African regions to support ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity. The Chinese authorities have forcibly repatriated North Korean refugees, knowing that they would be sent to labor camps or executed once back home. This significantly contravenes China's accession to the "Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees" and the "Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees."

· Please be aware that the Olympic Games will be held in a country where there are no elections, no freedom of religion, no independent courts, no independent trade unions; where demonstrations and strikes are prohibited; where torture and discrimination are supported by a sophisticated system of secret police; where the government encourages the violation of human rights and dignity, and is not willing to undertake any of its international obligations.

· Please consider whether the Olympic Games should coexist with religious persecution[,] labor camps, modern slavery, identity discrimination, secret police and crimes against humanity.

As the Beijing Olympics slogan says, we live in "one world" with "one dream." We hope that one day the Chinese people will be able to share universal human rights, democracy and peace with people from all around the world. However, we can see that the Chinese government obviously is not yet prepared to honor its promise. As a matter of fact, the preparations for the Olympics have provided the perfect excuse for the Chinese government to restrict civil liberties and suppress human rights!

We do not want China to be contained or isolated from the rest of the world. We believe that only by adhering to the principles of human rights and through open dialogue can the world community pressure the Chinese government to change. Ignoring these realities and tolerating barbaric atrocities in [the] name of the Beijing Olympics will disgrace the Olympic Charter and shake the foundations of humanity. Human rights improvement requires time, but we should at least stop China's human rights situation from deteriorating. Having the Olympics hosted in a country where human dignity is trampled on will not honor its people or the Olympic Games.

We sincerely hope that the Olympic Games will bring the values of peace, equality, freedom and justice to 1.3 billion Chinese citizens. We pray that the Olympics will be held in a free China. We must push for the 2008 Olympics to live up to the Olympic Charter[,] and we must advocate for the realization of "one world" with "one human rights dream." We believe that only an Olympic Games true to the Olympic Charter can promote China's democratic progress, world peace and development.

We firmly hold to the belief that there can be no true Olympic Games without human rights and dignity. For China and for the Olympics, human rights must be upheld!

It may be good for short term profit, but it is severely detrimental to long term freedom and innovation. It is NOT capitalism. If competition is fostered, and supported completely, without government intervention, miracles will happen.

The intervention of goverment money and the gradual movement from insurance as a risk moderator into a full service, carefree provider, have allowed the same cost overruns and litigious tort abuse to corrupt the system as they have with the Boston Big Dig. Private companies lobby your reps and senators, for plumb payouts, instead of competing for your service dollar.

I thought about president Barack Hussein Obama, as I saw this piece. I could see him, plucking those juicy plums of theology, that would reinforce and excuse his unconstitutional behavior.

I could not help but think that this religion, really is a form of government. It contains mandates and forgiving political deception. It rewards acts, that vanquish enemies by force. I can clearly see this religious appeal, to the slimy souls of politicians, lawyers and power zealots. It has built-in excuses for their behavior, sanctioned in the name of God.

I think liberals have adopted many of these elements, in their own perverse religion of progressivism. It makes me think of Jimmy Carter. It makes me think of Goebbels' crude manipulation of media. It makes me think of that manipulation, re-packaged by our contemporary MSM elite know-it-alls.

I see us now, bowing to the mideast. I see us forcing cap and trade, a moratorium on our own offshore energy supplies. This will not to benefit us, but it will solidify control over us. This is about the assertion of control and the abrogation of freedom.

I see this president, on his world apology tour. I think of England's institutionalized form of policy driven apology, worming its way through its rotting cultural guts, in the form of Sharia law at swimming pools.

There is a very strong gravitational and nourishing appeal, to young minds, to suckle on the seething milk of progressive hatred, pumped out for years, towards conservatives, libertarians, former president Bush and Constiutionalist judicial advocates. This drugged milk is still being squeezed out, in the Daily show, by the MSM, our schools and our vomiting celebrity culture. Whatever undigested pap, that pools on their teeth and gums, is then ritually spat, in our conservative faces. Those of us, who believe in the freedoms, the Constitution and the bill of rights, then have to wipe this ignorant spittle off of our faces and try to make do.

Palpable, ugly and vociferous attacks, by progressives, on those of us who exercise those freedoms, only reinforces my conclusion. I am getting very angry, along with many other fellow Americans.

If so, we can assume they are trying to cover up a one big screw up, that they created in the first place, with an even bigger screw up. Queue more elitist incompetency, layered with more elitist bureaucracy.

c) Congress are such a collection of lazy cowards, that they want to stuff all their dirty socks into a single drawer, even if it blows out the bottom and scares the cat. Pathetic. The rest of us work for a living. They can't even do their job for premium pay.

Every excuse you can think of, shines the ugliest light on Congress' work ethic, motives and long term aspirations.

This is why the bill hefts over a thousand pages long. It cannot be broken up and debated. It must must be expedited, in the interest of public concealment. Debate means.. well reasoned discussion, sometimes ugly democracy, vigorous analysis and general exposure of information to the public. This usually results in useful legislation, at the expense of some useless legislators. We can't have that. After all, useless legislators need a career and a health plan; a plan they did not force upon the rest of us suckers.

Apparently, our Solons have built an arrogant callous. It shields their their brain from thoughts that we humble Americans might be up to the task. Obviously the liberal elites agree.

The progressives always lecture the world on the unbridled corruption of capitalist power. Man, I am SO... EFFING... SICK.... of hearing this crap.

The progressives have all the power now... and look at the damn corruption!

When they tell us that Goldman Sachs is a pinnacle of capitalist corruption, we learn that this player has been a willing, prostrate, financial oligarchy in service to liberal politicians. Goldman Sachs formed a financial 'cartel', with the FED! It bankrolled Obama, with nearly a BILLION campaign dolllars, at five to one against McCain at just over 200M. It had an ex-patriate, drooling toady in Paulson.

We now learn, that the large financials have nothing to do with real capitalism.

They have everything to do with manipulating the money supply, along with their partner, the FED. We now learn the pile of money can change any moment, which is holding our financial recorvery, future and life savings hostage, by virtue of its ability to set value to all those things.

This is the manufactured crisis, coveted by Rahm Emanual, and Obama's Czars, without any congressional oversight or desire to oversee.

These geniuses engineered the destruction of our economy for their own political greed and progressive, Marxist ideals. Adam Smith is my philosopher. If we have a true divine potential, it must be to maximize ourselves at the least expense of our neighbors. Leaders are “making progress” with Democrats who want more cost cuts in the legislation, Pelosi told reporters in Washington today, a day after President Barack Obama met with a group of Democrats to try to convince them to back the plan.

To Democrats, cost cuts mean rationed socialism, not fiscal discipline. All bureaucrats will still get their slice of angel cake, while they keep their premium health plans. Everybody else will get an expedited appointment with, well... angels.

“I have no question we have the votes on the floor of the House to pass this legislation,” Pelosi said.

What this usually means, is that she's promised to pad another couple of hundred pages upon and between the current thousand or so. Nobody will read it prior to voting, anyway. Those pages will contain more juicy, ankle grabbing rape, in the form of treasury booty, scheduled for each American taxpayer and their collective brood of debt cursed children.

“We want to reach an agreement and go to markup in our committee,” possibly as early as tomorrow, said Waxman. “We have not resolved our issues, but we are getting close.”

The way to resolving the issue is to replace the single deadly bear trap, with a series of midnight leg-hold traps. By the time they are finished, the result will be the same. You will have to chew off a major appendage, before age 50, to escape from the waiting room.

Obama is looking for movement on Capitol Hill before holding a news conference at 8 p.m. today Washington time, where he will press lawmakers to carry out the most sweeping changes in U.S. health care in more than four decades.

Sweep the old, and infirmed and unborn right under the rug, into the acid bath. The only non-swept, un-changed health care coverage, will be covering congress.

He will say that Americans are counting on Congress and the administration to “get this done.” “They are looking to us for leadership,” Obama will say in his opening remarks, according to excerpts released by the White House. “We must not let them down.”

There is a rush to get it done, while the stimulus failure deflates. That failure, rushed to pump more expensive noble gases into the torn balloon of four decades of liberal loan guarantees. Barney's bubble is still being pumped. The dollars are still flooding out of the rip in the balloon. Hey! We got an idea! Let's do the same thing to health care coverage!

Obama again will argue that reining in rising health-care costs is central to future prosperity and economic stability.

No sir. We will not employ the proven methods of consumer feedback, tort reform and fostered competition to control costs. We will bring down the hammer of big government bureaucracy, instead.

Big government has such a stellar track record for controlling costs, with thousands on toilet seats, billions on crumbling tunnels and trillions on bad mortgage debt.

The overhaul effort suffered a fresh blow today in the Senate, when Republican Orrin Hatch of Utah quit bipartisan talks aimed at reaching a compromise.

So Hatch is now being partisan. Good! Tell him to loan a piece of his spine to Graham, who's now wilting into a limp douche, regarding the Sotomayor nomination.

During the White House meeting, Obama asked lawmakers to take “a favorable attitude toward his proposal” to set up the five-member commission, Waxman said.

Of course 'attitude' is not really an administration tool, used to appoint commissioners. White house chiefs of staff perform that meager function.

Today, one Blue Dog member, Tennessee Democrat Jim Cooper, called the idea “definitely better than doing nothing” because “Congress will never address these issues on its own.”

Yeah. Issues like illegal invasion of the country by health care seeking baby bombers, never get addressed by congress, thus creating a health care 'crisis'. It looks like Jim is ready to roll over for some bling.

Pelosi said the proposed commission is “appealing to a broad sector of our caucus” concerned about cutting costs. “But we want to do it in a way that respects the prerogatives of the Congress” and the president, she said.

That's the Nancy way of saying, it's our way, or the highway. That is... highway funds going to a state that is willing to go our way.

Now that's the Chicago way, right Rahm?

The current House plan, unveiled on July 14, would expand insurance coverage to 97 percent of Americans while adding $239 billion to the federal budget deficit over 10 years, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Asked today if the House should stay an extra week in Washington in August to pass the legislation, Pelosi said 70 percent of Americans believe it would be a “good idea.” She declined to say how she felt about delaying the recess.

The Post has been lauded for decades, for its' expose on the Nixon administration, by the venerable Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein.

What a difference a few decades can make. Now the same paper is discovered by others, selling access to another American presidential administration, through it's own staff.
It does not matter that they retracted the offer in light of criticism. What matters is, they did it in the first place, without even noticing how wrong it was.

The Post, Woodward and Bernstein spent those decades, until 2005, protecting the identity of their source, Deep Throat. Now, the paper is warmly embracing an administration, which is openly punishing and firing whistle blowers for exposing government corruption. This shameful pirouette, reversing any credible stand on ethics in journalism, is just another new outrage, in a string of new outrages.

We are all watching in horror, as the media re-shapes itself, through its staffing, into an Orwellian Ministry of Truth, serving this new celebrity dictator president. I have no idea what Woodward and Bernstein's feelings on the president and the Post are. All I know, is during these first horrendous first few months, their employer from the Nixon years, is becoming just another unctuous media adulation pariah.

This whole trend is turning the collective stomach of America. Let's look at some harvested quotes from Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein.

Unfortunately, you have found it appropriate to criticize a program that has not yet aired. [ Ed. ABC viewer's will naturally be guided by their own sharply honed instincts to conclude that imminent and immediate government rescue, although imperfect, is the only viable solution. Did I mention it would have to be done immediately; I mean NOW, because everybody's reproductive organs will wither, crumble and blow away from global climate change if they don't rush the legislation through in midnight candle lit session of trillion dollar pork pulling.

Sadly, some inside government and within the private sector see every issue as material for a sort of political high theatre, to be used to gain votes or energize political bases or simply to raise funds. I would have thought that a subject as important as the health care received by the American people would rise above this sorry spectacle.

This venomous media parasite, spends years, trying to churn ratings for dollars, with 20/20, ABC news, running hit pieces on conservatives and marshmallow pitches at liberals with 'This Week with George Stephanopoulos". He then lectures those who want real debate over ABC theatrics, to reconsider their selfish motives.

How many times must this pathetic hypocrisy be endured?

Our citizens need and deserve more. We are proud to be making a serious effort to go beyond mere punditry or stylized, bipolar debate; we are proud to work for a network and a company willing to devote valuable airtime to serious consideration of a subject so worthy.

The coverage will not be valuable or serious, but it will be mere punditry with the stylized simulation of debate.

I guess pre-emptively denying the plan of attack, is the liberal media equivalent of the Bush doctrine.

Finally, on a note of personal privilege, I entirely reject your attack on my colleague, Dr. Timothy Johnson. Dr. Johnson has established himself over many years as the foremost medical editor in television news. His knowledge about health care reform is surpassed only by his commitment to the truth and to fairness. [Ed. As for Linda Douglass, she did indeed cover Congress for ABC News. But she left us nearly four years ago to become a fellow at New York University and to work at the Rockefeller Foundation.

And when lovely Linda left ABC and took up a position in the Mahdi's administration, here's what she had to say to the Post:

After three decades as a television correspondent, Douglass is now on the inside -- but still not getting all the answers. If X is negative, you obviously cannot follow the latter instructions, your are a fool, and you voted for Obama.
If X is positive, you were trying to wade through a sea of disgust and save our democratinc constitutional republic for a few more months or years.
If X is zero, you are a hopelessly undecided fool, who should be sterilized, to preserve humanity.

If this simple exercise is beyond your grasp, you are a fool. If it took you, until election night, to accomplish this, you are a fool. The Obama presidency was not a prime time episode of 'scare tactics'. It was real. Ok? It does not matter, that the weeds of government have perverted the time honored principles of risk versus reward and supply versus demand. It does not matter that the thorns of those weeds have recklessly ripped open and bled away the life savings of hard working citizens. It does not matter that those delicate, untouchable wildflowers are being absolved of all responsibility, right before the eyes of cash strapped average American citizens. Hey their pretty, right? They look good and smell good and sound good.

The Energy Crisis

In spite of mounting evidence, rejecting the narrative of evil oil refiners and delivery agents, as primary predators and antagonists, the 'News' media shields the blame. They shield the liberal moratorium on domestic drilling, which enslaves us to those entities and ships our wealth into their hands.

We need to get to work every day. We need to drive to the store and buy food, almost every day. We need to carry that furniture to our brother or sister's house, in our car or truck. We need to perform these tasks in rain, snow and ice. We need our packages delivered to our homes. We need our food and products delivered to stores and warehouses. We need to have those stores and warehouses heated. We need those stores and warehouses lighted and connected to the computer and telecommunications networks.

We need electricity. We need heat. We need computers and telecommunications. We need energy. The refiners and pumpers get that stuff to our doors.

What we do not need is a cadre of pampered punk intellectuals incessantly harassing the entities that provide energy. The cost of this energy is a mere fraction of the cost of the mountain of private wealth, being shoveled into the throat of the federal government's blast furnace.

What we do not need, is a cadre of pampered punk intellectuals, spending both chemical and emotional energy, building home made bombs, decapitating their fellow punks, killing police officers, bombing judges houses and blowing up taxpayer property. They have refused to give credence to the thousands of degree laden scientists and professionals who reject the narrative. They refuse to observe the mounting correlation to sunspot activity. This 'News' media spent weeks, more weeks, then months of intensive digestion of hanging chads, swinging chads, dangling chads and Palm Beach centerfolds, during the 2000 election. This 'News' media is now engaged in a feverish pre-election filtration of ACORN, as they engineer a massive subversion of democracy. Their stewardship has already poisoned the well of our political process. If their pet affirmative action candidate is elected, I will never accept it as legitimate. It will be proven, but unreported, as illegitimate.

Once again, our Constitution is being spat upon and marginalized. The 'News' media has no integrity or honor. They have replayed the injustice of the O.J. When the 'News' media is looking at our successes in the field, they portray our soldiers as terrorists and everybody else as a civilian victims. When the 'News' media is looking at Guantanamo, they portray our soldiers as terrorists and captured terrorists as victims. When the 'News' media is looking at our failures in the field, ahhh..., now our soldiers get to be the victims, except... wait a minute... they are not victims of terrorists, but of our own foolish national policy that put them there. The 'News' media should be treated as armed enemies in the field. Their propaganda bombs are as devastating to our troops as the real thing, since they encourage the real thing.

The Presidential Race

In spite of mounting evidence, nullifying the narrative, that McCain is congruent with Bush and Palin is congruent with inexperience, the 'News' media has refused to discredit their pet liberal candidate. He has no experience. He can lie with impunity. The 'News' media' has burned Sarah Palin, in effigy. The 'News' media has brutally dissected the past of simple citizen Joe the plumber. The 'News' media has brutally dissected the past of Cindy McCain. The 'News' media has refused to scrutinize Barack Obama's associations with terrorists, bigots, Chicago thugs and graft merchants, while brutally dissecting the past of John McCain. Past associations and judgments must be churned up for Republicans and troweled over for Democrats. There are no associations worse, than the writhing maggots, partying in the porta-potty, under Barack Obama's campaign bus.

This 'News' media must be destroyed

We must seize our right to have objectivity, rational thought and dissemination of real, verifiable facts. It is a survival demand that truth be taught in the institutions that accept our taxes for sustenance, like our schools and universities. We need to survive as a free people. We need to be free to discuss our views and politics without fear of retribution. Most of all, we need our right to freely access young minds, without institutional brain washing. We must demand the freedom to enlighten the unenlightened, with the entire body of Western civilization and thought, not just the sputum of Marx, Chomsky and Ayers.

If this means the forcible cutting of a time honored cultural connection to the university system, so be it. These institutions are responsible for this mocking parody of journalism. They have been actively subverting our culture, our nation and our sovereignty, for years. They started to do it in the sixties and they have institutionalized radicalism and casually dismissed radicalism, ever since. Even John McCain has bought into this crap with his recent waving off of Bill Ayers as 'an old washed up terrorist'. That attitude is dangerously dismissive.

The 'News' media is a product of this overindulged system that has lectured us over and over about how their voices have no ears, because our culture has no value or credibility. Now we know their voices have no ears, because their voices carry a worthless message, with no value or credibility. We need to seriously consider discarding the relevance of that university sheepskin. It would cut their financial umbilical. We need to get back to hiring and promoting people on their ability to produce ideas and products. We need to starve the intellectual cancer that produces a Barack Obama, by choking off those financial blood vessels.

Americans are smart, capable, creative and free. With conservative parental guidance, in their early formative years, and the technological information tools at their disposal, they do not need the political garbage and cult indoctrination. If the kid is gifted, don't submit them to this pipe, to be poisoned. Take them out of the sewer pipe and put them on the path or merit and achievement.

Being better than the next kid, is not a crime. It is a mandate. I thought liberals were pro-choice. I guess pro-choice, in the liberal sense, only applies to abortion, while every other liberal choice in our lives is supposed to be carefully guided by government regulations.

So, if you have a small business, struggling to pay that new tax burden, don't hire that fresh mouthed college punk, who pumped an entire mortgage into a black hole, only to get that lousy Obama T-shirt and a head full of bad wiring. Hire someone who believes in getting everything they work hard for, by delivering hard work. Let them prove it with results and learning on the job. Learning on the job and in the trenches, created many of those in the greatest generation. That is the America that became a superpower.

Am I trying to create a 'super race'? Damn right. But here is the difference: I do not care what skin color the super race is. I do not care what religion the super race is. I am not the one who wants to euthanize the elderly and I am not the one who wants to abort the unborn. In fact, the only thing I demand, is that anybody that shows achievement, not be denied the resources to fully develop that ability for my benefit and the benefit of everybody else. They should not have their their achievements stolen, insulted or accused of being disrespectful to deadbeat non-producers. We are at a two year pre-election anniversary.

I posted the following screed, two years ago, prior to the disastrous Democrat victory in that election. I am thinking that the optimism of these words was misplaced. Although my recalling of events was correct, I believe my casual dismissal of the seriousness of our cultural problem was an error. Since I am a fan of more cultured beverages than Kool-aide. I have included all of the comments of my fellow bloggers and friends.

My biggest mistake was thinking that the MSM was a force to be ignored and marginalized, since they were bleeding jobs and credibility.

My second biggest mistake was thinking young, computer savvy people were smart enough, as a collective whole, to not be fooled by charismatic cult propaganda.

My third biggest mistake was thinking president Bush would maintain his doctrinal goal of doing what is right, instead of caving in to the eight years of caustic bile heaped on his turtle shell. Instead he decided to turn his legacy into turtle soup, by pandering and big government corruption.

Oh, well. I admit that we all learn from mistakes.

Leadership can make a choice. Leadership can prune the tree, take the pain, recover and bear healthy fruit in the future. They can also decide to sit on the disease, hoping it won't take over the tree. Then the disease becomes systemic and fatal.

Democrats let this disease destroy their tree. They put the pruning shears away for the Clintons, the Franks the Studds the Kennedys and so on. They dulled their saw in the face of national security, the ACLU, the tort lawyers and so on. They are willing to watch the whole tree scalped to the ground by Islamic extremists. This tree looks pretty sick to me.

There is vital life in the Republican tree. There is a solid, meaty conservative core. It's full of life and it is willing to save the tree. They will not abandon the tree because there is a shrill, screetching, power starved bird, hopping up and down, on a dead branch of the other tree. The bird is bitching about how the Republican tree should have its foliage stripped off, just to be fair.

Go get the '22.
Shoot the bird.
Feed it to your favorite Republican dog.

Now That’s Entertainment

This media circus reminds me of watching the WWF as a kid. Those guys knew how to move emotion, just like the democrats. They will get you all pumped up, with a flashy, glitzy glittering sequined patriotic character.

As a child, you swore to God almighty that flying Joe the Camel would bear the sons of Alexander and create an empire in his name. Just when the fans were reaching out to put the crown of the universe on his head, during a massive coronation, he would get the call from the smoke filled room.

“Sorry, Joe. It’s time to take the fall for the ratings. Here’s what you’re gonna do. You’re gonna get caught in the Black Sultan’s tent, wearing a cross-your-heart bra and … “

Of course everybody’s hopes come crashing down. How could Joe betray us? Where will our salvation come from? Of course, next week, everybody is rooting for the Black Sultan.

The media loves the timing aspect of this formula. That is why they sat on the Foley story for a year. It is far more valuable now. See how many ratings tickets they can sell for the next thrilling episode of the evening news. See if they can actually move the outcome of the election. Come see the Senator with the groping lobster claws. Come marvel at the dog-faced congressman. Come one. Come all. If they hadn't pumped everybody up over the Monica issue, we may have actually caught dirty uncle Bill in one of his genuine acts of gross security negligence. Because of the media circus, I have to listen to eye-rolling laments about how Bill was only guilty of a hummer, while Bush killed innocent civilians and soldiers. We never hear about Clinton's genuine crimes. Just hold the issue over the head of Hastert and company, like the sword of Damocles.

Hell, the media knew, yes knew, Armitage was the leaker, while Libby’s genuine innocent career was being spiked into the end zone. They play hard ball, for the big bucks. Make no mistake. There are no core moral principles here; just the window dressing and the fake X-Ray specs they used to sell in the comics.

The Teflon Tiger

There is a hero in this arena. Yes; he has risen to the heights of coronation. Yes; he has plummeted into the abyss of our despair, at the border of Mexico. I am talking about the WWF media sensation, president Bush, the Teflon Tiger.

They have smashed the Tiger with folding chairs. They have jumped from the dizzy height of every scandalous painters ladder they have climbed upon, only to be foiled and dashed to bits in the arena.

They have mud-balled him, paint-balled him, low-balled him, hard-balled him and black-balled him.
They have scratched his ears and ruffled his fur. They have mocked his wife, his kids. All they got over it, was a headache and a highball.

The Tiger has taken it from the left, taken it from the right and taken it from abroad (including Helen Thomas).

The Tiger has dished it out to the left, dished it out abroad and brought the razor sharp fangs of the Tiger in Chief down on the terrorists.

He is flawed. He is dramatic. We love him. We hate him. He has core principles in his utility belt. He is not afraid to use them, whether you or I like it or not. That is leadership. The Tiger is going to hold the course. We put him there, twice, to do exactly that. The Tiger is our home town hero, with enemies both foreign and domestic.

Don't Steer the Reaper

Nobody should treat the general election like the liberals treat WalMart or StarBucks. It's not a place to cast a protest vote or stage a boycott. You had your chance to do your tree pruning, during your state primary.

Vote early.
If you live in Florida, vote often.

Now is the time to calmly kill that squawking bird, stuff it with festive seasoning and feed it to our troops, with a surprise thanksgiving visit. Feed the leftovers to your new Republican puppy. If the puppy has an accident and poops on your carpet, don't cut his head off. Scoop up the scandalous turd and flush it. Roll up the Constitution and swat him on the ass. Kiss. Make up. Go out hunting again.

Why would you need some absurd reality show, when you have the best reality show around.

I know I am entertained.

a4g said...: The Democrats cannot survive on a platform of nothing indefinitely. Three decades of aborting themselves out of existence and twisting truth into a knotted tangle of lies have destroyed them in ways even they do not fully understand.

The tipping point is coming. The fractiousness we see today, the close elections, are the sawtooth instability just preceeding the trend. Maybe not this election cycle-- but we will see.

At no time in the history of mankind, has information been so available, so fluid and so dynamic. We are beginning to see the dying effectiveness of a tool that has been in man's toolbox since the Ancient Egyptians. That tool is deep, indoctrinating propaganda. The type of institutional propaganda that breeds terrorism and liberalism is now impossible to contain. There are new bad effects, to be sure, like the fifteen minutes of instant fame people can get by egregious behavior and the lust by those to seek that fame. I think the positives outweigh the negatives.

They may blame Diebold, but they will be scrutinized without mercy, for the attempt. I am excited and optimistic. I think the people have real power in their hands.

Morris and FIAR, you know how much I like to mix metaphor and politics. I hope the entertainment value carries the message along. As I have said in the past, I do not draw the difference at the party level. I draw it along conservative and liberal boundaries. I can and have, named several solid conservative voices in Washington. They just happen to be members of the Republican party.

At the D.C. tier of Federal foibles, the party distinction is hopelessly blurred by an enormous, irresistible mountain of manipulation. I do not believe that any of us mere mortals, unwilling to swim in that shark pool full of appetites and power brokerage, can ever understand how that environment feels or ever hope to see it made pure.

I think it is a fantasy to believe it can.

This is the inseparable consequence of blending freedom and power. We have to live with it, constantly cleaning it with the power of speech and the democracy of the voting booth.

Your liver cleans the fatigue from your body. Your liver fights to remove the elements that will kill you. You cannot live without it. Those toxic factors are never going to stop arriving at your liver's front door. How do you filter out those bad elements from the political liver? With core principles and good blood circulation. Your principles will never get a break from the evil appetites of people in power. I think the people that run to the false introspective comfort of the Rosies, have always been around. There is a large component of them in the boomer crowd. They have the luxury of putting their heads in the sand, because our prosperity and success, at keeping our economy robust and the barbarians off-shore.

Actually, that's fine.

Most people like being blissfully ignorant. It may not sound optimistic to say that it might take another horrendous attack, perhaps at the hands of a failing P.C. policy, to inject the pain necessary for correction.

The optimism comes in the belief that America has a far better chance of weathering such a crisis, transformed in a good way. We have not reached that fatalistic European apathy. People see the signs and say dear God, will we become like France? Will be submitting to a violent indigent component of our population? I think not. America swung the first defensive punch in the GWOT. Conservatives swung the first defensive punch in the GWOCulture.

I am looking long term, here, Sean. Just keep an eye on some key observations.

Why do the Rosies, the Sterns, the Ward Churchills and the Frankens squawk so loudly and so often in front of hand-picked audiences of bobbled headed sycophants? It is because we have a big fat, bayonet sized VWRC internet thorn, capable of penetrating even Rosie's ample mantle. The more they complain, the more they drive the curious over to our side.

Take note of what a4g said about twisted lies. They make very poor foundation walls, which cannot support the weight of scrutiny. People just don't like a constant pessimistic drumbeat. It makes you sick. It makes you want something else. That is what they are offering; pessimism dressed up as comedy and theatrics.

The MSM has suffered an enormous credibility failure. Who calls the NYT the paper of record anymore? How long did it take for Dan Rather, America's anchorman, to crash and burn? Less than an hour before the blogosphere exposed his scandal. Reuters got caught photo-shopping and had to hysterically backtrack, while bloggers grabbed their data and began to go over all of it. The key point here, is that all of those scandals became national news items themselves. That is real power. This is what I mean by indoctrinating propaganda, dying on the vine.

College universities, a major source of cultural indoctrination, have priced themselves out of the market. They have packed themselves with foreign students, in some cases, because the money is better. The result? They are detaching themselves from main stream political influence. Many of the college elites want to attach illegal aliens and the poor to government tuition benefits, not out of altruism, but economic and political desperation. The internet education revolution is also destroying their influence and the value of their institutional degrees. The claim that people are not taught to think out in the real world is absurd. Look at the product being pumped out of these institutions. P.C. elitism and esteem based social policy has produced students who can't read, can't write, can't think and can't function in a job without serious mentoring. In the future, it will be... What do you know? What can you do? What have you done? It will not be where did you get your degree?

It is easy to be pessimistic. Just watch the news and throw your hands up in disgust. I prefer to exude the unwaivering optimism of Ronald Reagan. It has an effect on me. It will have an effect on others. Just do it in spite of what you see around you, without reservation.

Collectively, our optimism can defeat the defeatism of the Jimmy Carters in this world.

There is scope. Most people perceive the right to free speech as way more of a benefit, than a harm. For guns and tobacco, people can argue the harm element, without ambiguity, whether you agree with them or not. The framer's abstract wording of the second amendment, also adds an element of weakness. I think a genuine SCOTUS challenge, might undo much of the gun control we see now. The first amendment, besides being FIRST (h.t. jimmyb) suffers no shortcomings.

The main social institutions, such as the media and to a lesser extent universities, rely on the first amendment to criticize and motivate change. They cannot effectively advocate artificial moderation of that freedom, on a large scale, without becoming completely impotent. They will not surrender what power they have left.

The internet is not covered by FCC regulations, nor can the government threaten them with license seizure. The peoples right to free association, is a strong argument in support of blogs and on-line grouping.

To effect global censorship, they would need an indoctrinating propaganda campaign, much like what the Nazi's did when they burned all the books. To succeed, would take a colossally strict and organized movement of like minded individuals. Liberals spend as much time eating their own, as they do their professed enemies. As I said, propaganda operates poorly outside of a controlled environment. I think it would now be extremely difficult to create that environment, which is the necessary first step.

I think a call by anyone, including lawyers, to regulate the internet, will bring the wrath of Hades down on the head of the group involved.

We can't even get the government to enforce our border laws. There is no way they will enforce laws that will dampen commerces and communication. In spite of the few high profile 'example' cases, people openly violate the DMCA and DRM.

Good afternoon. Thank you all for being here. As we observe the passage of the very serious piece of legislation, we must do so with an eye to the future. We were faced with a situation that had terrible ramifications for everyone on Main Street, but all the attention was on Wall Street. We wanted to turn that attention and that was our intention in the legislation.

Your intention, Ms. Skull, was to turn the attention away from congressional Democrats and direct it towards Wall Street. Are the guys on W.S. a pack of greedy bastards? Of Course! But you guys knew that. That's why you took their booty. That is why they drooled at the opportunity to have the Federal Goverment guarantee their gambling with our tax dollars. You threw a juicy side of beef in front of an insatiable, ravenous animal and now you are bitching about its predictable voracious reaction.

Under the leadership of our chairman, Barney Frank, as I called him on the floor, a maestro, we were able to make improvements, working in a bipartisan way, making improvements in the legislation, and then make more improvements in the legislation before it came back to the floor today.

He really is a true maestro, isn't he Ms. Skull? When the Ministry of Truth is on your side, there is nothing you cannot accomplish. Barney is just another chairman in a long line of chairmen, just like Mao, who believe in leveraging the engine of wealth, fueled by the people, to be the prime mover of his own political ambitions. Barney believes in no Fannie left behind. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

The eye now is to the future. To shine the bright light of accountability on what is happening in our financial markets so that it doesn't happen again. That accountability will tell us how we got to this place and ferret out the abuses. That accountability will honor our trust to the American people.

The eye is sure on the future, isn't it Ms. Skull? The future is a short few weeks of vigorous makeup foundation, slathered with a green room trowel, on the facade of this scandal. We need only wait until the anointed one can be installed. After that the filament in the bright light of accountability will be accidentally connected to 220v and burned out in a blaze of yawning dissmisal. The only honor and trust will be conferred on your media co-conspirators.

Mr. Frank will be holding hearings on where we go from here, because we are about the future. Mr. Waxman's hearings will be instructed as to how we got here -- that we know how to avoid this in the future. It will be about accountability, it will be about regulation, regulatory reform, which is essential. It will be about building an economy with a focus on the middle class, where many more Americans will participate in the economic security of our country.

Do I have to resurrect the old fox and hen house cliche? What Waxman will be instructed to do, is construct a way to use the Federal record to pre-assemble blame for future indiscretions on conservatives, libertarians and free market Republicans. Why not? It seems to be working on the current bleating flock of public school Obots (no offense R.T.) Hell the Clintons tried to do it, by pulling the FBI data on their detractors. Why not make those useful government resources a functional and successful priority for the Obama administration?

And the high flyers on Wall Street will no longer be able to jeopardize that personal economic security of Americans, again, because of the bright light of scrutiny and accountability and the attention given under regulatory reform.

Again with the bright light, Ms. Skull. We know you threw a pillowcase over the light, during the emergence of this scandal. We know that the minute the pillowcase began to smoke and burn, accountability was the last thing you were concerned with. You just flipped the breaker and told us to wait for your electric company to show up and re-route the power, on the appointment schedule you created. O.K. everybody... hold your breath, pull the batteries out of the Smoke/CO detector and stand by.

We are all believers in the free market -- it's part of our democracy. We know that the free markets create jobs, create capital, and create wealth -- that's very important. But recently, left unregulated and undisciplined and unsupervised, they create chaos. That was then; this is now. We're about the future, and that is the direction we want to take our policy. We want to take our economy in a New Direction for the middle class.

Ms. Skull, I wish to congratulate you on this rare display of candor. I agree that you may believe in jobs, capital and wealth. That part of our democracy, you may believe in. The Chinese also believe in these few elements of our capitalism. It has pumped an enormous volume of our wealth into their hands, as they rake the autumn leaves of our technology, via internet espionage into their yard. In that yard, they have composted the results into a vigorously growing technological garden, at our expense.

Ms. Skull, You reject the concept of freedom. How do I know? Easy. You put regulation, discipline (your definition) and supervision ahead of our freedom. Freedom requires pain and dissappointment, when resources and unproductivity cannot be successfully mustered. It requires the right to suffer for failure. That makes us strong. It makes us American. Suffering is not a sin. It is a strength. It is a teacher. It is a blacksmith, striking a hammer on our soul, as we rest on the anvil of our civilization (link visit it later).

So many of our leadership was part of this legislation today. I dont say that we celebrated, because I don't think that. Frankly, we could have had a much better bill under different circumstances, but these are not the circumstances we were under. We were dealt a bad hand; we made the most of it. I think the American people will benefit from it. We decided, in the course of this week, that we needed to bring the bill up, that it was urgent that it pass and we had to depend on ourselves to get it passed.

So you were dealt a bad bag of weed Ms. Skull? It looks like you were the drug dealer. The bad hand was dealt by you, as the dealer. The circumstances were your own creation. Everyone reading this should read Niccolo Machiavelli's "The Discourses" and the "Prince". The man would be a lauded blogger today. Back in Nicky's day, there were just as many ranting bloggers, suffering from insanity, ugly stupidity, crystal truth, lack of hygiene and anti-biotics.

They could have equally matched the chaos of the current internet, if only they had the massive capacity of instant gratification, introspection and instant fame of immediate political consensus and immediate political congruity that we now enjoy.

They just did not have our technology. They relied on contemporary believers to read and advocate their historical truths, in books and speeches. Now, it just takes a few moments of computer generated sophism and faux rationalization, to dictate our future. Our technology would be resprected, if it were not hindered by a brutally irresponsible level of civil apathy.

Fortunately, we had a strong bipartisan vote, but we knew we would be strong enough to pass the bill today, because of the work of Steny Hoyer and Jim Clyburn and Rahm Emanuel and our other members of the leadership. And now I am pleased to yield to the person who worked very hard on this with great leadership, Steny Hoyer.

So, Ms. Skull, the work of one of your Democrat fund raisers passes for bipartisan aisle crossing.

He talks about America rising to its 'responsibility' and its 'duty' to cover its obligations, without talking about how those obligations became obligatory in the first place.

Your party does not talk about how socialist vote pandering became fiscal folly, on the grandest and ugliest of scales.

Your party does not talk about powerful Russian oligarchs, super-powerful Chinese oligarchs and Arab theocracies, adept at holding boot heels over the throats of their own people, dumping the wealth we have shuffled into their hands into our political process, so they can purchase a boot to grind into our throats.

Your party does not talk about the culture of selfishness and dissolution of family responsibility that imbues these hippy rejects who support your party, with the feeling that they have the right to insult those who pay their bills (read Miriam's testimony).

Your party does not talk about how our kids are being told to abandon personal responsibility, personal excellence and accountability and replace those virtues with the weakness of bleak ephemeral hedonism and intellectual fraud.

He did not talk about how our kids are being told that surrendering their country is as easy as surrendering their pride and moral obligations. They just need to accept the fact that their country is evil, they are evil and they can take a small step to correct it, by destroying their parents, their wealth and their Constitution.

That is the problem with big government. Big government has a big appetite and a big stick to hunt down its food. It is aggressively turning that stick into a big cattle prod to herd its food. The beast has learned how to create soothing animal farms for its food, with their nanny government proctors installed in the schools, universities and media. The MSM is now openly acting as a ministry of truth for the more potent of the two nanny government candidates.

The only thing we can do to this monster is slash at its feet and ankles at the ballot booth. We can only hope that we don't get swatted while we try to save our lives and our freedom. That is the only action that has any hope of bleeding this beast to death. This is going to be a difficult or impossible job.

The Leaking Balloon

I hate to re-iterate what I said back in March, which has proven to be every bit the disaster I described.

Now, we are seeing what precipitated this crisis. Now we are seeing the government poised to once again, do the worst thing they can do to 'solve' it.

The real-estate market is a bubble, folks. It is a balloon that has been pumped up with poor credit risk, with the poor credit being gobbled up by government sponsored agencies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. This another example of big government meddling with market forces, driving market prices through the roof. This is just like the medical system. This is just like higher education subsidies. This is just like no-bid military contracts and on and on and on. When was the last time you saw a government program that did NOT drive market prices through the roof?

You guys have seen the commercials from predatory speculators, showing you how to flip houses and grow rich. The up-swing in the markets was inflated by financial institutions taking risks on people like this, believing they could ride up on the profits too, without actually taking any real risk. Aunt Fannie and uncle Freddie, both government employees, were there; ready to open up the guest room.

The balloon has now developed a leak and is slowly deflating. What happens when you pump more air (money) into a leaky balloon? You temporarily swell the balloon, accelerate the leak and wind up losing all that new air (money).

Bailout now, and we will pay later, big time. Regulation of risk taking must happen first. No AMRs. No sub-primes. No short-selling mortgage backed securities. People taking the risk must own the risk first and have no sense of government sanctioned security.

If taxpayer money must be used for market stability, it should be done in frugal chunks, not a big fat 700B wad. Every chunk should be examined and considered by the examination of the market health and effect of the previous chunk.

Liberals brought us here. Liberal Democrats and liberal Republicans, wanting to be liberal with our wealth and our markets, while enriching their own pockets, campaigns and altruistic notions of social engineering.

I am sick of paying for this crap, while listening to the solons that created the mess, lecture me about how I have to make sacrifices to save the planet.

Nearly 10,000 of the biggest donors to Republican candidates and causes across the country will probably receive a foreboding “warning” letter in the mail next week.

I'm sorry, but when did the vast right wing conspiracy ever conspire so openly, to silence the opposition of the left, by intimidation, instead of debate of the ideas?

Led by Tom Matzzie, a liberal political operative who has been involved with some prominent left-wing efforts in recent years, the newly formed nonprofit group, Accountable America, is planning to confront donors to conservative groups, hoping to create a chilling effect that will dry up contributions.

At least I am thankful the Times reporter opted to use the word chilling. That is exactly what this is. Hand me a beer; it needs chillin'.

“We want to stop the Swift Boating before it gets off the ground,” said Mr. Matzzie, who described his effort as “going for the jugular.”

So 'Swift Boating' is not the act of exposing a person for fraudulent, self-promoting behavior? It is not an act of free speech, challenging a candidate to defend his fraud in front of the American people, as a pre-requisite to handing him enormous power? Maybe we should have done something really evil to John Kerry, like threaten his campaign donors with the corrupt machinations of the fourth estate, simply on the basis of their support. Sounds like an idea. We should get started on Obama, immediately.

The warning letter is intended as a first step, alerting donors who might be considering giving to right-wing groups to a variety of potential dangers, including legal trouble, public exposure and watchdog groups digging through their lives.

So they are threating to emulate Media Matters, the NYT and various other sources. Good luck.
Americans love the underdog. They despise fascism. It has something to do with that ugly constitutional right enumerated first in the bill of rights.

Mr. Matzzie said he had decided to focus exclusively on conservative donors because such an effort could be done cheaply.

“It’s targeted,” Mr. Matzzie said. “We don’t need $25 million.”

Mr Matzzie had better be very careful. There is a thing called discrimination, which has been pruned and pampered by liberals for years now. Every target should sue, for triple damages.

Still, Accountable America has singled out some major Republican donors, including Sheldon Adelson, a billionaire casino mogul, and Mel Sembler, a former ambassador and real estate magnate, both major donors to Freedom’s Watch, a conservative group.

“This idea sounds even more sloppily thought out than his last venture, which, of course, went belly-up for lack of financial support,” Mr. Patru said.

“I doubt anyone will be intimidated by him,” he said, “but if it gives anyone pause, they are always welcome to give to Freedom’s Watch — all of our donors are entitled to complete anonymity by law.”

I finally ran out of the twin-bottle set of Old Spice I have been nursing for the last five years.

I am not talking about the blasphemous new Gay Spice, using the Old Spice label for unthinkable new odors.

I saunter over to the men's shaving supplies and I am promptly denied and dismayed. The only thing with after-shave written on it, is Aqua-Velva, which I cannot stand. I have never seen a sorrier selection of metro-sexual white flags of male surrender in my life.

None of this stuff was designed by men or women who want men to feel like men and go after women.

All of it was designed by women and (heh) 'men', who want the whole population of men to feel like women, and go after the remaining men.

It's no longer after-shave. It's now called post-shave skin balm. There are bottles of Nair hair depilatory not just for 'men' but exclusively for 'black men'. There is acne spot repair, eye-rescue formula and oatmeal exfoliating facial scrub.

In my house, the facial scrub is a industrial sized pump of Lava soap,

followed by a generous wad of engine degreaser.

They usually contain a dose of solvent just shy of the threshold of ignition. This permits immediate approach towards the propane grill or lighting that big cigar without a big surprise.

Axe body spray.. give me a break. In my house, the body spray is the leftover overspray of the pressure washer, loaded with chlorine bleach deck cleaner, or the spatter of residual hornet killer, which I'm too lazy to wash off.

Men like rocks, fuel, caustic chemicals that kill dirt and kill insects. We like turpentine, acetone, naptha and old style Old Spice. We like pumice in the soap to scrub off our labors. We like pumice in the grill, to catch all that heart-healthy fat, oozing from our burgers, convert it into carbon credits and re-deposit them on the burgers. We like fuel in the grill, fuel in the hand cleaner and fuel in the Old Spice bottle, scented like classic Old Spice.

This is the closest we get to the borderline of our significant others, only because it can cover the scent of Lava, mineral spirits, barb-e-que rub and cigar smoke. There's also a simple ship on the bottle, not a graphic of some guy with his package bulging through a set of spray-on leotards.

Damn. I considered buying a bottle of rubbing alcohol, to hold me over.

During the same shopping session, I also bought a package of Hanes premium white crew-neck tagless T-shirts. I get the package home and notice something weird. The bag the shirts come in is re-sealable by a zip-lock plastic rib. This is a 'feature', which they are careful to brag about in writing.

Now, I don't know about my readers, but I have a habit of ripping the underwear bag open with my teeth and tossing the ones I don't want to use right away into the drawer. I don't need to treat my underwear like a bag of frozen shrimp. I don't need to re-seal my unused portion of underwear, to preserve the freshness.

"Gee Honey.. While you're pulling out those frozen waffles, could you grab me a fresh set of briefs ?"

All of the new age men are evacuating Mars, moving into their girlfriends' apartments on Venus and driving them into the stone age by getting stoned and aging. We should be re-shaping Mars into a war planet again. Meanwhile, I will look for some classic Old Spice and chuck the re-sealable bag from my new underwear.

John McCain on the Iraq War

In January 2007, when General David Petraeus took command in Iraq, he called the situation “hard” but not “hopeless.” Today, 18 months later, violence has fallen by up to 80% to the lowest levels in four years, and Sunni and Shiite terrorists are reeling from a string of defeats. The situation now is full of hope, but considerable hard work remains to consolidate our fragile gains.

Progress has been due primarily to an increase in the number of troops and a change in their strategy. I was an early advocate of the surge at a time when it had few supporters in Washington. Senator Barack Obama was an equally vocal opponent. "I am not persuaded that 20,000 additional troops in Iraq is going to solve the sectarian violence there,” he said on January 10, 2007. “In fact, I think it will do the reverse."

Now Senator Obama has been forced to acknowledge that “our troops have performed brilliantly in lowering the level of violence.” But he still denies that any political progress has resulted.

Perhaps he is unaware that the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad has recently certified that, as one news article put it, “Iraq has met all but three of 18 original benchmarks set by Congress last year to measure security, political and economic progress.” Even more heartening has been progress that’s not measured by the benchmarks. More than 90,000 Iraqis, many of them Sunnis who once fought against the government, have signed up as Sons of Iraq to fight against the terrorists. Nor do they measure Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki’s new-found willingness to crack down on Shiite extremists in Basra and Sadr City—actions that have done much to dispel suspicions of sectarianism.

The success of the surge has not changed Senator Obama’s determination to pull out all of our combat troops. All that has changed is his rationale. In a New York Times op-ed and a speech this week, he offered his “plan for Iraq” in advance of his first “fact finding” trip to that country in more than three years. It consisted of the same old proposal to pull all of our troops out within 16 months. In 2007 he wanted to withdraw because he thought the war was lost. If we had taken his advice, it would have been. Now he wants to withdraw because he thinks Iraqis no longer need our assistance.

To make this point, he mangles the evidence. He makes it sound as if Prime Minister Maliki has endorsed the Obama timetable, when all he has said is that he would like a plan for the eventual withdrawal of U.S. troops at some unspecified point in the future.

Senator Obama is also misleading on the Iraqi military's readiness. The Iraqi Army will be equipped and trained by the middle of next year, but this does not, as Senator Obama suggests, mean that they will then be ready to secure their country without a good deal of help. The Iraqi Air Force, for one, still lags behind, and no modern army can operate without air cover. The Iraqis are also still learning how to conduct planning, logistics, command and control, communications, and other complicated functions needed to support frontline troops.

No one favors a permanent U.S. presence, as Senator Obama charges. A partial withdrawal has already occurred with the departure of five “surge” brigades, and more withdrawals can take place as the security situation improves. As we draw down in Iraq, we can beef up our presence on other battlefields, such as Afghanistan, without fear of leaving a failed state behind. I have said that I expect to welcome home most of our troops from Iraq by the end of my first term in office, in 2013.

But I have also said that any draw-downs must be based on a realistic assessment of conditions on the ground, not on an artificial timetable crafted for domestic political reasons. This is the crux of my disagreement with Senator Obama.

Senator Obama has said that he would consult our commanders on the ground and Iraqi leaders, but he did no such thing before releasing his “plan for Iraq.” Perhaps that’s because he doesn’t want to hear what they have to say. During the course of eight visits to Iraq, I have heard many times from our troops what Major General Jeffrey Hammond, commander of coalition forces in Baghdad, recently said: that leaving based on a timetable would be “very dangerous.”

The danger is that extremists supported by Al Qaeda and Iran could stage a comeback, as they have in the past when we’ve had too few troops in Iraq. Senator Obama seems to have learned nothing from recent history. I find it ironic that he is emulating the worst mistake of the Bush administration by waving the “Mission Accomplished” banner prematurely.

I am also dismayed that he never talks about winning the war—only of ending it. But if we don’t win the war, our enemies will. A triumph for the terrorists would be a disaster for us. That is something I will not allow to happen as president. Instead I will continue implementing a proven counterinsurgency strategy not only in Iraq but also in Afghanistan with the goal of creating stable, secure, self-sustaining democratic allies.

My Plan for Iraq by Barack Obama

The call by Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki for a timetable for the removal of American troops from Iraq presents an enormous opportunity. We should seize this moment to begin the phased redeployment of combat troops that I have long advocated, and that is needed for long-term success in Iraq and the security interests of the United States.

The differences on Iraq in this campaign are deep. Unlike Senator John McCain, I opposed the war in Iraq before it began, and would end it as president. I believed it was a grave mistake to allow ourselves to be distracted from the fight against Al Qaeda and the Taliban by invading a country that posed no imminent threat and had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks. Since then, more than 4,000 Americans have died and we have spent nearly $1 trillion. Our military is overstretched. Nearly every threat we face — from Afghanistan to Al Qaeda to Iran — has grown.

In the 18 months since President Bush announced the surge, our troops have performed heroically in bringing down the level of violence. New tactics have protected the Iraqi population, and the Sunni tribes have rejected Al Qaeda — greatly weakening its effectiveness.

But the same factors that led me to oppose the surge still hold true. The strain on our military has grown, the situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated and we’ve spent nearly $200 billion more in Iraq than we had budgeted. Iraq’s leaders have failed to invest tens of billions of dollars in oil revenues in rebuilding their own country, and they have not reached the political accommodation that was the stated purpose of the surge.

The good news is that Iraq’s leaders want to take responsibility for their country by negotiating a timetable for the removal of American troops. Meanwhile, Lt. Gen. James Dubik, the American officer in charge of training Iraq’s security forces, estimates that the Iraqi Army and police will be ready to assume responsibility for security in 2009.

Only by redeploying our troops can we press the Iraqis to reach comprehensive political accommodation and achieve a successful transition to Iraqis’ taking responsibility for the security and stability of their country. Instead of seizing the moment and encouraging Iraqis to step up, the Bush administration and Senator McCain are refusing to embrace this transition — despite their previous commitments to respect the will of Iraq’s sovereign government. They call any timetable for the removal of American troops “surrender,” even though we would be turning Iraq over to a sovereign Iraqi government.

But this is not a strategy for success — it is a strategy for staying that runs contrary to the will of the Iraqi people, the American people and the security interests of the United States. That is why, on my first day in office, I would give the military a new mission: ending this war.

As I’ve said many times, we must be as careful getting out of Iraq as we were careless getting in. We can safely redeploy our combat brigades at a pace that would remove them in 16 months. That would be the summer of 2010 — two years from now, and more than seven years after the war began. After this redeployment, a residual force in Iraq would perform limited missions: going after any remnants of Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia, protecting American service members and, so long as the Iraqis make political progress, training Iraqi security forces. That would not be a precipitous withdrawal.

In carrying out this strategy, we would inevitably need to make tactical adjustments. As I have often said, I would consult with commanders on the ground and the Iraqi government to ensure that our troops were redeployed safely, and our interests protected. We would move them from secure areas first and volatile areas later. We would pursue a diplomatic offensive with every nation in the region on behalf of Iraq’s stability, and commit $2 billion to a new international effort to support Iraq’s refugees.

Ending the war is essential to meeting our broader strategic goals, starting in Afghanistan and Pakistan, where the Taliban is resurgent and Al Qaeda has a safe haven. Iraq is not the central front in the war on terrorism, and it never has been. As Adm. Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, recently pointed out, we won’t have sufficient resources to finish the job in Afghanistan until we reduce our commitment to Iraq.

As president, I would pursue a new strategy, and begin by providing at least two additional combat brigades to support our effort in Afghanistan. We need more troops, more helicopters, better intelligence-gathering and more nonmilitary assistance to accomplish the mission there. I would not hold our military, our resources and our foreign policy hostage to a misguided desire to maintain permanent bases in Iraq.

In this campaign, there are honest differences over Iraq, and we should discuss them with the thoroughness they deserve. Unlike Senator McCain, I would make it absolutely clear that we seek no presence in Iraq similar to our permanent bases in South Korea, and would redeploy our troops out of Iraq and focus on the broader security challenges that we face. But for far too long, those responsible for the greatest strategic blunder in the recent history of American foreign policy have ignored useful debate in favor of making false charges about flip-flops and surrender.

It’s not going to work this time. It’s time to end this war.

Palestinians: Israel uses rats against J'lem Arabs

In the reports, Palestinians were quoted by the agency as saying that they had seen Israelis release herds of wild pigs, which later attacked them.

They were mistaken. Those were not herds of wild pigs, those were herds of captured Palestinian militants, released by liberal Israeli courts. They attacked the civilian populations, so the Israelis could be blamed. I can see why they would be mistaken for wild pigs.

But this is the first time that Palestinians have spoken of rats being used against them.

In 2007, the year of the Pig ended. Now it's 2008; the year of the Rat. Check it out. It's true! Don't blame the Israelis. Blame the Chinese. The evidence is far more compelling.

"Rats have become an Israeli weapon to displace and expel Arab residents of the occupied Old City of Jerusalem," Wafa reported under the title, "Settlers flood the Old City of Jerusalem with rats."

If it's not global warming, it must be the Jews. There is no possibility that the lifestyles of these people are creating a huge rat magnet. Walking around in pee stained undershirts and beating up your wives to the point where they can't sweep the garbage of the floors, is a sure way to invite new 'friends'. Besides, the city is one of all faiths. I wonder why the rats seem to only be a problem for the Arabs? Yes; that question was rhetorical.

If you build it, they will come. Well for Rats, the field of dreams is a pile of rubble, corpses, old garbage, shite and flies. One rat's meat is another rat's poision.

Gallup has American freedom defined in full statistical reality.

Gallup is a repectable polling organization. There is an enormous amount of information in this poll. The poll question is simple and unbiased. It is obviously designed to petition a person's basic, heartfelt position, instead of providing the desired opinion, by proxy intimidation.

What does the poll tell us?

It tells us that Americans put their optimum trust and complete faith in the institutions that have either made the country great, or keep the country safe.

The top dogs:

Americans want security. We have shed enough blood for it, to protect every freedom we enjoy. Apparently, the poll shows Americans have the greatest faith in the military and the police, in spite of the relentless media and judicial attack on these institutions, with fabricated venom like the Tawana Brawley case and the Haditha 'massacre'. Wow... As a statistical whole, in spite of Hollywood conspiracy theories, Americans can trust other fellow citizen Americans, who are well trained to control themselves, to act as civilized professionals. We can actually trust them to control Americans and non-Americans who are out of control. Who knew? (Except everyday Americans of course.)

With their vote for small business, Americans value freedom to engage in fair commerce. Everybody who knows this blog, knows I support big business, only when it continues to act in the interest of our freedom. The emergence of large Chinese government subsidized companies, has put crappy, unreliable products on our shelves, without competitive alternative. Large government seized energy interests in the Mideast and Latin America are buying political influcence in both our D and R camps. Together they are stifling and crippling our energy independence. This restricts our flexibility to produce and move forward. The most dangerous big businesses around the world now, are state monopolies. Yes. Government, hand-in-hand with business means long term danger.

Americans agree with me. Small business is great. Some of the big business is terrible. These big businesses would not be in this position, if they did not resemble big government. Some of the big business would not be in this position, if they did not work for, or influence big government to take our hard earned scratch, without competing to produce their product. Americans trust small business. And why shouldn't they? In its freedom to mature and grow. It has given us all that we have. Government driven big business and business driven big government, does not serve the interest of American freedom.

Our founders knew that freedom of religion was first. Americans are religious. That is why the founders put the right of religious expression, in the first amendment. People are free to practice their religion, as long as they do not violate the rights of individuals, like say a woman, who does not wish to have her face caved in, by some insecure Islamic male, with a desire to compensate for his microscopic manhood. Our founders knew that every individual must enjoy every freedom imaginable, not restricted by the very limited range of power given to the government over that freedom. Unlike the UK, we should view radical Islam as a form of government, embedded in a religion. This form of religion has NO place of legal authority in America.

Do you see a freedom theme here? Of course, you do. Of course you should. You are American. Unless you forgot, and became a David Souter or John Kerry 'world citizen'.

Fair to the Middle:

The president would be much higher on the list, somewhere around the military and the police, if he was not thinking about his legacy. He would be higher on the list, if he was thinking like the Commander-In-Chief. The man has American boys in the field. In his twilight presidency,he is floundering around with apologetic platitudes and indecisiveness; unwilling to show us the powerful president in a flight suit. Unwilling to address national security, to the public or deliver more hot Thanksgiving turkey to our troops.

President Bush is the executive of our laws; yet, he will not execute the laws regarding immigration. He has let the main stream media derail his presidency. He has let them define, then destroy his character. He has done this, without challenge. He has let them convince him of their fabricated truths, like global warming and carbon credits. George Bush is a flawed man. Hell; so am I. So are we all. The more power a man has, to affect real substantive change, instead of just talking about it, the more his character will be scrutinized for that ability. He is responsible both for effective and decisive action against terrorism and blundering inaction against the domestic threat of socialism.

Oh well. At least George Bush, President of the United States, is blowing away the Congress, in the eyes of the Americans polled by Gallup.

The SCOTUS is the definitive mixed bag of tricks. One day they are upholding the Constitution, the next day they are pruning it like a Bonsai, to bring it up to our 'modern standards'. So the court sits in the middle ground. With one or two conservative appointments, they could be enjoying military popularity. With one or two liberal appointments, they could be wallowing in the Congressional muck.

The Bottom Feeders:

The Gallup poll tells us that the depressing, relentless MSM narrative has only served to expose them as the drama queens they are. That is something to be proud and optimistic about. If this poll is to be believed, I think they will continue to sink, until they meet their friends, the Congress, at the bottom of the list. The Boston Globe left a 'free paper' on my driveway, in an effort to increase readership. I intend to call them to pick up their trash, or be fined by the police for throwing litter on my property. I encourage others to do the same. For many years now, the MSM has been an outrageous insult to democracy and free thought.

Why are HMO's where they are? Nobody really wishes to look at the medical system in terms of economics. They somehow feel, because it is a physical imperative, that it deserves a market dispensation unlike other free market driven products and services. They could not be more wrong. The HMO's are the business side of a struggling system, trying to provide a service, at a very low cost, in an environment which has been artificially driven to high prices and cost by actors that have no direct consumer connection to the services and the product. Medicare and Medicaid pay out their booty with little or no complaint, since they are not the patient. The government passes laws restricting providers, without consideration or recompense. Tort lawyers sue the system and extract money away from medical services, even when this activity is proven to be fraudulent or based on poor science. Insurance companies raise insurance rates, instead of aggressively pursuing cost reduction, or defending legal cases, since it is easier to pass the burden to the rate payers. All these forces drive the costs up and disconnect the money providers and recipients from the medical system. It exposes all to risk. In essence, we already have the facets of socialized medicine. It is the reason some of the big corporations want socialized medicine. It will make competition and competing innovation difficult or impossible. People do have faith in medicine itself and its providers, which is why the medical system is on the other side of the Gallup poll.

Note that the police are at the top of the poll, but criminal justice is at the bottom. I guess the public really does detest the duplicities, sloth, civil service stagnation and pandering to the ACLU, that defines our criminal and civil court system. Gee. We do not like criminals released to victimize civilization and tire the police, over and over, on technicalities and lenient sentencing. Gee. We do not like judges using obtuse, emotion driven judgement to override public referendum laws, approved by voters. Gee. We do not like judges, who pass sentences for DUI, bankruptcy, lewd behavior and the like, then get caught exhibiting those behaviors themselves. Gee. We do not like having to endure the lifetime appointments of these officials, watching them go slowly insane, with their institutionalized radicalism, spewing it all over us and our kin.

What can I say about Congress? People can detect a serious leadership vacuum when they see it. Congress is polluted with corruption, perversion, nepotism, graft and a general moral decay.
Normally, this would have the people of the founder's day, bringing torches, guillotines, rakes and fresh lumber to Capitol hill. When they are not on the take, they are immersed in sexual scandal. When they are not immersed in sexual scandal. they are superficially patching the issues of our day, with pathetic diversions and excuses, which violate the very laws they pass and swear to uphold. They are disconnected from reality, because they are too lazy to research any controversial topic, deeper than their media mouthpieces, or lobbyist sources, would like them to. They are grossly uninformed and incapable of rational thought and discourse. They are unsympathetic to their consituents. When they are not providing superficial legislative patches, they are embracing and advocating radical solutions, like global warming hysteria, ethanol mandates, bailouts and nationalization of refineries, without any conscience consideration of consequences. They are seriously and dangerously flawed. They have sunk to the bottom of the poll, at an all time low, weighted by the plumbum of their hubris. By the way, both of our presidential nominees this year, come from this 'wonderful' Congress.

An Unfortunate Omission:

I wish Gallup had included our current liberal University system, as a collective institution in the poll. I think the liberal universities are far worse than any public school. They probably take as much money (if not more) and deliver far more civic damage, to the concept of American freedom, than other institutions. They plant the seeds of dissent. By dissent, I do not mean the seeds of freedom or free speech or any of the bullshit paradigms, used by these sophists to mask their destructive behavior. I mean the seeds of mind control and the curtailing of freedom, by truncating debate and thought on their own campuses.

These institutions are polluting young minds, which are just learning to think and reason. They push their shabby theories of some fictitious form of socialism, which if given the right chance, will bring us to utopia. They incessantly push the soft racism of diversity and multiculturalism. They push for government power over all, to enforce their elitist ideals. These institutions, which should be burned to the ground and re-built, are injecting their untested and detestably unacceptable theories, in those young minds. All the civics and American history has been either omitted from the curriculum, or distorted as evil and unacceptable. It is seditious, ugly and may result in the end of our fragile democracy.

If Gallup is to be believed, Americans are still resisting this, even if it is on a collective, subconscience level. If we wake up from our slumber, connect the dots and fill in the paint-by-numbers canvas, things could look quite different, in November, then is speculated by the media.

KENNEDY v. LOUISIANA

Justice Kennedy's opinion of the court held that applying capital punishment to a person that brutally rapes, but does not kill, a child, is cruel and unusual punishment for said criminal.

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA ET AL. v. HELLER

Justice Scalia affirmed the Constitutional right for individual citizens to bear arms.

Target 'Greetings' to Barack Obama Fans

I was walking through the Target Greatland, 10I Commerce Way off route 93, Woburn, Mass. I had picked up a few items and noticed an 'Election Selection' section in the greeting cards. Rank BDS infection and Obamessiah worship have obviously wormed their way into the ranks of the 'artists' who create this overpriced effluent. I counted no less than ten cards, either insulting the president, joyously ushering in Barack, or both.

What was worse, is the fact that Target felt it was good public relations to parade this political drivel in front of the general public and put a price tag on it. I dropped my items on the nearest shelf and walked out.

Apparently, this has happened before, only a few days ago. Apparently the Target staff and their greeting card friends were Targeting Hillary, instead of Bush.

I suffer from sort of cultural myopia. This limited vision anchors my thoughts, to my own personal, warm buttered slice of time. Of course, lately the butter has hardened a bit, since the heat has been turned down. The slice is very lightly toasted. The slice has gotten a bit smaller.

My beliefs are conservative. What a backwards dinosaur I am. I am supposed to suck it up and be respectful of the ebbs and flows of American culture and progress. John McCain says I need to accept reality. Thanks John. You are my inspiration.

The Grand Old Party is warning me that I might suffer a God awful precipitate of lethal liberal nerve toxin, should I withhold my crucial and much coveted support for dear John's candidacy. Just give me a moment. I have to carefully wipe John's latest saliva discharge, from the surface of my corneas. There. I can actually see the ballot check-box next to his name. No problem.. That's uhhh... better... I guess.

I need an anchor.

Perhaps I need to embrace the liberal mantra of emotional gratification.

I need to believe in ethanol production ahead of food production. I need the cool, hip kid with the frosted hair, who can move his research through the torrential rivulets of the current media complex, by exuding late night, Starbucks and espresso inspired political angst, in front of cameras. I need to carefully shake those cameras by computer algorithm or by reality-trained professionals, so that the shaking makes the drama look like authentic, spontaneous coverage.

This culture has given me the fast track toward decisions, by cultivating the art of argument by concensus. It is an old and respected tool of antiquity, for successfully destroying civilizations; (They used to call it propaganda).

Now they call it progress. Maybe I should call it progreganda. Hmm. Doesn't sound good. I will just call it bullshit.

The progress comes from regurgitation of priorities set by the elite liberal establishment, which on its left hand excoriates Bush for his connection to the Saudis, and on its other hand, takes Saudi and Arab money in the form of big University grants, following those grants with big
criticism of both the U.S. and Israel.

You tell stories to your children, about how you walked a mile to the school bus stop, without cell phones, iPods and Goretex boots. Your father told you about walking four miles, without a transistor radio or a ball point pens. Your father told stories about his father, talking about depression, meals, re-using flour sacks for clothes, canning home grown garden vegetables for winter, burning wood for heat and basic things you take for granted.

Now your children can tell their children, if they don't abort them, about how great medical care, energy prices and cell phones used to be, until your collectivist, communist and environmental lunacy bombed them all back to depression. They can do this while their kids contemplate their next government sponsored meal and other government sponsored basics of human existence, provided by the dwindling tax base, of your dying population; A population who had the audacity of hope, to privately save for retirement.

Your foolish forefathers, in their zeal to make your pathetic lives better, have stripped you of instructive cultural stresses. Those stresses shape you, with national pride, to develop the things which make U.S. great.

Since you cannot respect this concept, without spewing a stream of Chomsky vomit, You should really put the stress on.

You should just print more money. You know this screws up the economy. But, let's face it. You need to save moron borrowers from moron banks. You need to save both from their moron decisions, inspired by your moron liberal social policies. If this holds off the inevitable recession, for a few months, in trade for a recession ten times worse, well you needed to break some eggs, to get your B.O. president elected, Ok?

You can then stress out in a great depression, Which you can then convince yourself will be solved, by Franklin Delano Obama, even though you set the stage for the whole disaster, with your media campaign. If you are lucky beyond hope, American freedom and ingenuity may rescue you. You will try to make sure, that American freedom and ingenuity will not get the credit.

You and the rest of us, can then pay extra for everything, because everything will cost extra. Don't rate. Don't debate. ...Just medicate. Just pump opiates into your thoughts, both legally and illegally derived, and switch on the ugly tube, with the next Obama feel-good rally.

Health-caring for everyone. That is the new motto. When you are whisked into emergency surgery to pull an infected gallstone, stuck in one of your pipes, because you couldn't see a specialist for 18 months, remember, we now have the same, fair, emotionally satisfying Obama/Hillary socialist bureau-crap-fest that has served Great Britain in its desperate hour of social need.

You can't say it will be low cost, since it will be based on the same fusion of public and private Washington lobby synergy that brought America the five hundred dollar toilet seat, and the sixteen billion dollar leaking Boston tunnel. If you recover, by some miraculous circumstance, distract yourself by going to the movies. Watch an emotionally crafted film by an emotionally crafted fool, like Michael Moore or Albert Gore. First, go see the movie about Iraq. Use that reaction to pull funding for national security. Next, see the next movie about the medical system. Use that reaction to spend the money you saved on the first reaction. Next, see the movie with computer generated imagery, being paraded as scientific mandate. Use that reaction to steal more savings, from citizens who are trying to insulate themselves from ugly Communist predators.

See how easy that is? There is no need to look to the past or the future. You just take that well crafted feeling, and the well crafted instruction to not listen to anyone else, and ride with it.

Take your cue from the stars. Celebrities do not celebrate with celibate behavior. You don't have to either, if you don't want to. Just do what they do. Poke away with your genetic equipment in that sea of pleasurable indifference. Try the same side. Try both sides. You can always vacuum out the indiscretion with an abortion later, if your hedonistic plumbing happens to be of opposite polarity. You can always claim it was mandated by the pre-fabricated geometry of the airport bathroom stall. It just feels so good to be submerged in spontaneous satisfaction, while at the same time contributing to the decline of evil, greedy western populations.

The IRS should be the only hand of government you fear. Government is your big, soft and squishy mommy. Your mommy will wipe your nose and tuck you in. Your mommy will wipe you dry, when you come in from the hurricane, with the fresh bills, that she slips from your wallet.

Even if your presence is unsanctioned, you can invade the country, bugger children, rape citizens and run citizens down, in a oil-burning pick-up with a landscaping sign on it, while in an illegal drunken stupor, cruising illegally, without a legal licence or legal citizenship.

Just like mommy, your judicial system will always forgive you, for each and every infraction. Just don't run for office, to change mommy's bureaucracy.

If you are a genuine, verifyable citizen, by God, do not fail to file that tax return. Mommy doesn't like 'tax cheats', esp. those she can track with a valid SSN. Illegal immigrants are just special immigrants are they not? Those are children, in their arms. This means you must discard all other considerations, like border security, rule of law and peripheral nonsense like that. Since 9/11 a veritable mountain of new bureaucratic paperwork is in place. Government employees are overstressed. Neither you, nor they, need new computer systems or an overhaul of the moldy bureaucracy.

You need some downtime.

You need some aromatherapy.

Just reset the ticket counter at the deli and give the finger to all those who took a ticket and have a number. Just take that mountain of illegal people paperwork and shred it with a nice clean act of emotional legislation. By all means, you do not want to hurt anybody's feelings, or incur any serious duty, by referring to that nasty Constitution thang.

If you don't belong here, it's ok. You will get a free American sandwich, a chocolate milk, a pat on the head and the gold star of citizenship with a health care chaser.

Call it an eco-parable: one Prius-driving couple take pride in their eight redwoods, the first of them planted over a decade ago. Their electric-car-driving neighbors take pride in their rooftop solar panels, installed five years after the first trees were planted.

A snotty jet-set couple builds a McMansion next to a small pig farm, because the land is cheap. As the farm grows, they sue the pig farmer because of the noise and the smell.

Trees - redwoods, live oaks or blossoming fruit trees - are usually considered sturdy citizens of the sun-swept peninsula south of San Francisco, not criminal elements. But under a 1978 state law protecting homeowners' investment in rooftop solar panels, trees that impede solar panels' access to the sun can be deemed a nuisance and their owners fined up to $1,000 a day.

Correct me if I am wrong. Don't trees draw in and capture that deadly man-made CO2, that Al Gore has warned us about, storing it safely in their wood fiber? Don't they return valuable O2 to the environment? Don't they do this with the warm and fuzzy power of solar energy? Mr. solar panel's solar panels probably cost more to manufacture, using processes that use petroleum energy and resources, than they will pay back for years. And let's talk about energy. Do you think Mr. Solar panels solar panels are more efficient at converting solar energy than a design that nature has been tweaking and improving for billions of years?

To avoid future problems, Simitian has introduced a bill to ensure that trees planted before solar panels are installed have a right to grow in peace.

Wait a minute. What about these trees. Don't they have rights? This is California. Trees are people too.

The solar-redwoods dispute is unusual largely because it is a solar-panel owner who is mounting the challenge. Typically, solar-panel owners have to play defense.

And why should they not play defense? Look at that thing. It is the biggest eye-sore around. It is probably lowering the whole value of the neighborhood. It is an obnoxious billboard that spews the message: "Look at me! I am so conscious of the environment, I am willing to kill natural things in the environment to bring it to your attention!"

Treanor and Bissett said that after spending $37,000 on legal fees, they had no money left for an appeal. Last month, to comply with the order - even though Kumli said that he found it hard to call the trees a "nuisance" - the couple called the pruners.

Here's what I would do. By-pass the courts, they are useless Marxist tools. Go straight to the PR campaign. The neighbor with the trees should have called the Sierra club, and made a big eco-terrorist case for his floral friends. He could have sent the tree-huggers off to the corner with global warming crowd and let them duke it out, watching them burn off their booty on lawyers. It would be like putting a space heater and an air conditioner in the same small room, and challenging them to hold the temperature constant.
