National Grid's Nosy Green Bull Feces

I pay my bills, like everybody else, on time and in full. The last thing I need is an obnoxious, nosy company, gathering statistics, to compare me to my neighbors and sending me a guilt mongering letter about it, with the word YOU in bold.

Two of my three nearest neighbors are often absent. One for months at a stretch. There is no way there are 100 homes nearby, as small as mine.

So, National Grid, go shove your letter up the backside of the moronic teenage zit factory that is programming your green campaign.

True Sacrifice

Hu Jia and Teng Biao, wrote a letter about China, prior to the Chinese Olympics. After it was published, Hu Jia was beaten and arrested. He was then imprisoned with the charge "inciting to subvert state power".

Hu Jia was denied the Nobel Prize today, because there can be only one. So, it must go to the One.

By Hu Jia and Teng Biao
Saturday, April 5, 2008

This week, a Beijing court sentenced human rights activist Hu Jia to 3 1/2 years in prison for subverting state authority and to one additional year's loss of his "political rights." He was arrested in part for co-authoring, with Teng Biao, an open letter on human rights. Below, The Post printsHuman Rights Watch's translation of the Sept. 10, 2007, letter.

On July 13th 2001, when Beijing won the right to host the 2008 Olympic Games, the Chinese government promised the world it would improve China's human rights record. In June 2004, Beijing announced its Olympic Games slogan, "One World, One Dream." From their inception in 1896, the modern Olympic Games have always had as their mission the promotion of human dignity and world peace. China and the world expected to see the Olympic Games bring political progress to the country. Is Beijing keeping its promises? Is China improving its human rights record?

When you come to the Olympic Games in Beijing, you will see skyscrapers, spacious streets, modern stadiums and enthusiastic people. You will see the truth, but not the whole truth, just as you see only the tip of an iceberg. You may not know that the flowers, smiles, harmony and prosperity are built on a base of grievances, tears, imprisonment, torture and blood.

We are going to tell you the truth about China. We believe that for anyone who wishes to avoid a disgraceful Olympics, knowing the truth is the first step. Fang Zheng, an excellent athlete who holds two national records for the discus throw at China's Special Sport Games, has been deprived of the opportunity to participate in the 2008 Paralympics because he has become a living testimony to the June 4, 1989[,] massacre. That morning, in Tiananmen Square, his legs were crushed by a tank while he was rescuing a fellow student. In April 2007, the Ministry of Public Security issued an internal document secretly strengthening a political investigation which resulted in forbidding Olympics participation by 43 types of people from 11 different categories, including dissidents, human rights defenders, media workers, and religious participants. The Chinese police never made the document known to either the Chinese public or the international community.

Huge investment in Olympic projects and a total lack of transparency have facilitated serious corruption and widespread bribery. Taxpayers are not allowed to supervise the use of investment amounting to more than $40 billion. Liu Zhihua, formerly in charge of Olympic construction and former deputy mayor of Beijing, was arrested for massive embezzlement.

To clear space for Olympic-related construction, thousands of civilian houses have been destroyed without their former owners being properly compensated. Brothers Ye Guozhu and Ye Guoqiang were imprisoned for a legal appeal after their house was forcibly demolished. Ye Guozhu has been repeatedly handcuffed and shackled, tied to a bed and beaten with electric batons. During the countdown to the Olympic Games he will continue to suffer from torture in Chaobei Prison in Tianjin.

It has been reported that over 1.25 million people have been forced to move because of Olympic construction; it was estimated that the figure would reach 1.5 million by the end of 2007. No formal resettlement scheme is in place for the over 400,000 migrants who have had their dwelling places demolished. Twenty percent of the demolished households are expected to experience poverty or extreme poverty. In Qingdao, the Olympic sailing city, hundreds of households have been demolished and many human rights activists as well as "civilians" have been imprisoned. Similar stories come from other Olympic cities such as Shenyang, Shanghai and Qinhuangdao.

In order to establish the image of civilized cities, the government has intensified the ban against -- and detention and forced repatriation of -- petitioners, beggars and the homeless. Some of them have been kept in extended detention in so-called shelters or have even been sent directly to labor camps. Street vendors have suffered brutal confiscation of their goods by municipal agents. On July 20, 2005, Lin Hongying, a 56-year-old woman farmer and vegetable dealer, was beaten to death by city patrols in Jiangsu. On November 19, 2005, city patrols in Wuxi beat 54-year-old bicycle repairman Wu Shouqing to death. In January 2007, petitioner Duan Huimin was killed by Shanghai police. On July 1, 2007, Chen Xiaoming, a Shanghai petitioner and human rights activist, died of an untreated illness during a lengthy detention period. On August 5, 2007, right before the one-year Olympics countdown, 200 petitioners were arrested in Beijing.

China has consistently persecuted human rights activists, political dissidents and freelance writers and journalists. The blind activist Chen Guangcheng, recipient of the 2007 Ramon Magsaysay Award and named in 2006 by Time Magazine as one of the most influential 100 people shaping our world, is still serving his sentence of four years and three months for exposing the truth of forced abortion and sterilization. The government refused to give him the Braille books and the radio that his relatives and friends brought to Linyi prison in Shandong. Chen has been beaten while serving his sentence. On August 24, 2007, Chen's wife, Yuan Weijing, was kidnapped by police at the Beijing airport while waiting to fly to the Philippines to receive the Ramon Magsaysay Award on behalf of her husband. On August 13, 2007, activist Yang Chunlin was arrested in Heilongjiang and charged with subversion of state power "for initiating the petition 'Human Rights before Olympics.' "

China still practices literary inquisition and holds the world record for detaining journalists and writers, as many as several hundred since 1989, according to incomplete statistics. As of this writing, 35 Chinese journalists and 51 writers are still in prison. Over 90 percent were arrested or tried after Beijing's successful bid for the Olympics in July 2001. For example, Shi Tao, a journalist and a poet, was sentenced to ten years in prison because of an e-mail sent to an overseas website. Dr. Xu Zerong, a scholar from Oxford University who researched the Korean War, was sentenced to 13 years' imprisonment for "illegally providing information abroad." Qingshuijun [Huang Jinqiu], a freelance writer, was sentenced to a 12-year term for his online publications. Some writers and dissidents are prohibited from going abroad; others from returning to China.
ad_icon

Every year in mainland China, countless websites are closed, blogs deleted, sensitive words filtered. Many websites hosted abroad are blocked. Overseas radio and television programs are interfered with or strictly prohibited. Although the Chinese government has promised media freedom for foreign journalists for 22 months, before, during, and after the Beijing Olympics, and ending on October 17, 2008, an FCCC [Foreign Correspondents Club in China] survey showed that 40 percent of foreign correspondents have experienced harassment, detention or an official warning during news gathering in Beijing and other areas. Some reporters have complained about repeated violent police interference at the time they were speaking with interviewees. Most seriously, Chinese interviewees usually become vulnerable as a result. In June 2006, Fu Xiancai was beaten and paralyzed after being interviewed by German media. In March 2007, Zheng Dajing was beaten and arrested after being interviewed by a British TV station.

Religious freedom is still under repression. In 2005, a Beijing pastor, Cai Zhuohua, was sentenced to three years for printing Bibles. Zhou Heng, a house church pastor in Xinjiang, was charged with running an "illegal operation" for receiving dozens of boxes of Bibles. From April to June 2007, China expelled over 100 suspected U.S., South Korean, Canadian, Australian, and other missionaries. Among them were humanitarian workers and language educators who had been teaching English in China for 15 years. During this so-called Typhoon 5 campaign, authorities took aim at missionary activities so as to prevent their recurrence during the Olympics.

On September 30, 2006, Chinese soldiers opened fire on 71 Tibetans who were escaping to Nepal. A 17-year-old nun died and a 20-year-old man was severely injured. Despite numerous international witnesses, the Chinese police insisted that the shooting was in self-defense. One year later, China tightened its control over Tibetan Buddhism. A September 1, 2007, regulation requires all reincarnated lamas to be approved by Chinese authorities, a requirement that flagrantly interferes with the tradition of reincarnation of living Buddhas as practiced in Tibet for thousands of years. In addition, Chinese authorities still ban the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet and a world-renowned pacifist, from returning to Tibet.

Since 1999, the government has banned many religious beliefs such as Falungong and the Three Servants. Their followers have experienced extremely cruel and planned persecutions. Many died from abuse, suffered torture, brainwashing, imprisonment and labor camp internment for persisting in their faith, possessing religious books, making DVDs and writing articles to expose the truth of the persecution.

China has the highest death penalty rate in the world. Execution statistics are treated as "state secrets." However, experts estimate that 8,000-10,000 people are sentenced to death in China every year, among them not only criminals and economic convicts, but totally innocent citizens, such as Nie Shubin, Teng Xingshan, Cao Haixin and Hugejiletu, whose innocence was proven only after they were already dead.

Another eight innocent farmers, Chen Guoqing, He Guoqiang, Yang Shiliang, Zhu Yanqiang, Huang Zhixiang, Fang Chunping, Cheng Fagen and Cheng Lihe, who confessed their "crimes" after being cruelly tortured by the police, have been sentenced to death and are currently held in prisons in Hebei [province] and in Jingdezhen [in Jiangxi province].

Torture is very common in China's detention centers, labor camps and prisons. Torture methods include electric shock, burning, use of electric needles, beating and hanging, sleep deprivation, forced chemical injection causing nerve damage, and piercing the fingers with needles. Every year, there are reported cases of Chinese citizens being disabled or killed by police torture.

Labor camps are still retained as a convenient Chinese system which allows the police to lock up citizens without trial for up to four years. The detention system is another practice that the police favor, freeing them to detain citizens for six months to two years. Dissidents and human rights activists are particularly vulnerable targets and are often sent to labor camps, detention centers or even mental hospitals by authorities who want to simplify legal procedures and mislead the media.

China has the world's largest secret police system, the Ministry of National Security (guo an) and the Internal Security Bureau (guo bao) of the Ministry of Public Security, which exercise power beyond the law. They can easily tap telephones, follow citizens, place them under house arrest, detain them and impose torture. On June 3, 2004, the Chinese secret police planted drugs on Chongqing dissident Xu Wanping and later sentenced him to 12 years' imprisonment for "subversion of state power."

Chinese citizens have no right to elect state leaders, local government officials or representatives. In fact, there has never been free exercise of election rights in township-level elections. Wuhan resident Sun Bu'er, a member of the banned political party the Pan-Blue Alliance, was brutally beaten in September 2006 for participating as an independent candidate during an election of county-level people's congress representatives. Mr. Sun disappeared on March 23, 2007.

China continues to cruelly discriminate against its rural population. According to the Chinese election law, a farmer's right to vote is worth one quarter of that of an urban resident. In June 2007, the Shanxi kiln scandal was exposed by the media. Thousands of 8- [to-]13[-]year-old trafficked children had been forced to labor in illegal kilns, almost all with local government connections. Many of the children were beaten, tortured and even buried alive.
ad_icon

The Chinese judiciary still illegally forbids any HIV/AIDS lawsuits against government officials responsible for the tragedy. AIDS sufferers and activists have been constantly harassed by the secret police.

The Chinese government has been selling arms and weapons to Darfur and other African regions to support ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity. The Chinese authorities have forcibly repatriated North Korean refugees, knowing that they would be sent to labor camps or executed once back home. This significantly contravenes China's accession to the "Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees" and the "Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees."

· Please be aware that the Olympic Games will be held in a country where there are no elections, no freedom of religion, no independent courts, no independent trade unions; where demonstrations and strikes are prohibited; where torture and discrimination are supported by a sophisticated system of secret police; where the government encourages the violation of human rights and dignity, and is not willing to undertake any of its international obligations.

· Please consider whether the Olympic Games should coexist with religious persecution[,] labor camps, modern slavery, identity discrimination, secret police and crimes against humanity.

As the Beijing Olympics slogan says, we live in "one world" with "one dream." We hope that one day the Chinese people will be able to share universal human rights, democracy and peace with people from all around the world. However, we can see that the Chinese government obviously is not yet prepared to honor its promise. As a matter of fact, the preparations for the Olympics have provided the perfect excuse for the Chinese government to restrict civil liberties and suppress human rights!

We do not want China to be contained or isolated from the rest of the world. We believe that only by adhering to the principles of human rights and through open dialogue can the world community pressure the Chinese government to change. Ignoring these realities and tolerating barbaric atrocities in [the] name of the Beijing Olympics will disgrace the Olympic Charter and shake the foundations of humanity. Human rights improvement requires time, but we should at least stop China's human rights situation from deteriorating. Having the Olympics hosted in a country where human dignity is trampled on will not honor its people or the Olympic Games.

We sincerely hope that the Olympic Games will bring the values of peace, equality, freedom and justice to 1.3 billion Chinese citizens. We pray that the Olympics will be held in a free China. We must push for the 2008 Olympics to live up to the Olympic Charter[,] and we must advocate for the realization of "one world" with "one human rights dream." We believe that only an Olympic Games true to the Olympic Charter can promote China's democratic progress, world peace and development.

We firmly hold to the belief that there can be no true Olympic Games without human rights and dignity. For China and for the Olympics, human rights must be upheld!

I'm sure glad it went to a deserving person.

The 'Evil' of Capitalism

Capitalism gave you every great innovation, that makes modern life worth living, from simple ball point pens (http://tinyurl.com/yf5hayf), to the Joint Strike Fighter (http://tinyurl.com/5wd6).

Somehow, Americans have fallen, once again, into a Jimmy Carter style malaise. Once again, they question their greatness and ability.

Who can blame them?

They have been suffering an endless parade of evil capitalist exploiters, who begrudgingly pay competing wages, pay medical expenses, issue stock options, have warm offices and factories, have safety protocols, free e-mail and internet (http://tinyurl.com/ms26xp) and offer flu hots in the company health office. Those expletive bastards!

The legacy of the Carters, the Kennedy's ( Satan wrestle his soul ), the Franks, Dodds and other barbarians at the gates, have torn the idea of exceptional behavior, from our people and replaced it with a lumbering ingrate victim of racism (http://tinyurl.com/yfeq77q), a victim of Reaganomics (http://tinyurl.com/lxpdfa) or a (gasp) victim of Bush (http://tinyurl.com/4e6ds8). (Check BO's record against that last one).

Somebody please call Michael Moore.

He really knows about evil capitalism, having had to suffer, undercover, collecting tens of millions all in the name of freeing the proletariat from the yoke of Goldman Sachs (http://bit.ly/11fMoO.) What a brilliant, chubby chunk of Toll House goodness. It's amazing how he pulled that off, being financed by the same group of ivy league geniuses, that supported count Barackula, nearly five to one against the GOP guy, who I am having trouble remembering (http://tinyurl.com/6ac56b). \

Of course, we, not Al Gore (sorry Al!) created the internet. This is why I re-assert our greatness and ability over the professional victim culture of our dear leader (http://tinyurl.com/ylljcnv). The entire world has benefited from this creation of capitalism. The entire world has benefited from this communication specification, defined by the American military (http://tinyurl.com/zr5ed). WE paid for this freedom and innovation; the rest of the Obama loving world has benefited.

We paid for GPS (http://tinyurl.com/yl3eajs) , and the rest of the Obama loving world has benefited. My post is littered with internet research, at the tips of my nimble fingers and search engine. If you know your sources, those links can sting.

So, why is Michael Moore's capitalism evil?. Why is Barry constantly apologizing for us?

I guess because they are not really bitching about capitalism, since that is privately controlled.

They are really bitching about a financial cartel, (http://tinyurl.com/yzmhbb) formed between a government agency, the FED, and the big private firms that benefited. If you have parties meeting to fix prices, and the supply of money, that is not competition. That is NOT capitalism. That is financial oligarchy or fascism, as practiced by the Chinese and the Russians. Decisions are not made to provide the best products and services. Decisions are made to shut out competitors and maximize theft by stealth.

Here in Mass. it produced a project called the 'Big Dig'. Friendly government and private entities walked away with billions of taxpayer dollars, leaving an inferior product (http://tinyurl.com/yhywmwn).

It may be good for short term profit, but it is severely detrimental to long term freedom and innovation. It is NOT capitalism. True capitalism, in the spirit of Adam Smith, Thomas Sowell and Thomas Friedman means competition for your dollar and your patronage. Even the government is capable of this, which is why I mentioned the JSF, at the top of this post (http://tinyurl.com/5wd6). Competing forces produce superior quality and value.

That is the solution to our ills, even healthcare.

The argument that health care is a totally different market, with inelastic demand (http://tinyurl.com/2dabqp), is a canard. I do not buy it. Why? Because it is a human need, like all needs. You need food to live don't you? Do you not benefit greatly from market competition, giving you choices beyond compare? If competition is fostered, and supported completely, without government intervention, miracles will happen.

The intervention of goverment money and the gradual movement from insurance as a risk moderator into a full service, carefree provider, have allowed the same cost overruns and litigious tort abuse to corrupt the system as they have with the Boston Big Dig. Private companies lobby your reps and senators, for plumb payouts, instead of competing for your service dollar.

Obamacare would institutionalize this failure, forever or until complete financial collapse, whichever came first. You can guess the outcome, from there.

French Tax Break

This could be the breakthrough experiment, in Freidman economics, that we were hoping for.

Sarkozy hands business €10bn tax cut

Let's see what a conservative solution can do, for a stagnant socialist nation, assuming it is what it might be cracked up to be. (TBD)

The problem is, it IS competition, for international finance. This means we get hurt, unless we compete. The first step here, is shedding our current debt addicts in D.C.

25 Point German Socialist Plan

An excellent and disturbing video, by a contemporary philosopher and historian. A great deal of information and commentary. Required viewing. (Available 'freely' on Netflix Streaming Video)

This is the part conservatives always get accused of, by liberals. Of course, none of the racism here, was actually practiced by conservatives. Conservatives have never demanded more than respect for our existing constitution and laws. We get beaten and hospitalized by left wing thugs for that aberrant behavior.

1. We demand the unification of all Germans in the Greater Germany on the basis of the
people's right to self-determination.

2. We demand equality of rights for the German people in respect to the other
nations; abrogation of the peace treaties of Versailles and St. Germain.

3. We demand land and territory (colonies) for the sustenance of our people, and
colonization for our surplus population.

4. Only a member of the race
can be a citizen. A member of the race
can only be one who is of German blood, without consideration of
creed. Consequently no Jew can be a member of the race.

5. Whoever has no citizenship is to be able to live in Germany
only as a guest, and must be under the authority of legislation for foreigners.

6. The right to determine matters concerning administration and law belongs only to the citizen. Therefore we demand
that every public office, of any
sort whatsoever, whether in the Reich, the
county or municipality, be filled only by citizens. We
combat the corrupting parliamentary
economy, office-holding only according to party inclinations
without consideration of character or abilities.

7. We demand that the state be
charged first with providing the opportunity for a livelihood and way of life for the citizens.
If it is impossible to sustain the total population of the State,
then the members of foreign nations (non-citizens) are to be
expelled from the Reich.

8. Any further immigration of
non-citizens is to be prevented. We demand that all non-Germans,
who have immigrated to Germany since 2
August 1914, be forced immediately to
leave the Reich.

This is the part that really gets interesting. Take note of the collectivism, nationalization of banks and industry, nationalization of health care and the total demonization and deconstruction of capitalism. Take note of the centralization of power by government force.

Look familiar?

9. All citizens must have equal rights and obligations.

10. The first obligation of every
citizen must be to work both spiritually and physically. The
activity of individuals is not to counteract the interests of the
universality, but must have its result within the framework of the
whole for the benefit of all. Consequently we demand:

11. Abolition of unearned (work and
labour) incomes. Breaking of debt (interest)-slavery.

12. In consideration of the monstrous sacrifice in property and
blood that each war demands of the people,
personal enrichment through a war must be designated as a crime against the people. Therefore we demand the
total confiscation of all war profits.

13. We demand the nationalisation
of all (previous) associated industries (trusts).

14. We demand a division of profits of all heavy industries.

15. We demand an expansion on a large scale of old age welfare.

16. We demand the creation of a healthy middle class and its conservation, immediate
communalization of the great warehouses and their being leased at
low cost to small firms, the utmost consideration of all small
firms in contracts with the State,
county or municipality.

17. We demand a land reform suitable
to our needs, provision of a law for the free expropriation of land for the purposes of
public utility, abolition of taxes on
land and prevention of all speculation in land.

18. We demand struggle without consideration against those whose
activity is injurious to the general interest. Common national
criminals, usurers, profiteers and so forth
are to be punished with death,
without consideration of confession or race.

19. We demand substitution of a German common law in place of the Roman Law serving a materialistic
world-order.

20. The state is to be responsible for a fundamental reconstruction
of our whole national education
program, to enable every capable and industrious German to obtain
higher education and
subsequently introduction into leading positions. The plans of
instruction of all educational institutions are to conform with the
experiences of practical life. The comprehension of the concept of
the State must be striven for by the school [Staatsbuergerkunde] as
early as the beginning of understanding. We demand the education at
the expense of the State of outstanding intellectually gifted children of poor parents without
consideration of position or profession.

21. The State is to care for the elevating national health by
protecting the mother and child, by outlawing child-labor, by the encouragement of physical
fitness, by means of the legal establishment of a gymnastic and
sport obligation, by the utmost support of all organizations
concerned with the physical instruction of the young.

22. We demand abolition of the mercenary troops and formation of a national
army.

23. We demand legal opposition to known lies and their promulgation
through the press. In order to enable the
provision of a German press, we demand, that: a. All writers and
employees of the newspapers appearing in the German language be
members of the race: b. Non-German newspapers be required to have
the express permission of the State to be published. They may not
be printed in the German language: c. Non-Germans are forbidden by
law any financial interest in German publications, or any influence
on them, and as punishment for violations the closing of such a
publication as well as the immediate expulsion from the Reich of the non-German
concerned. Publications which are counter to the general good are to be forbidden. We demand
legal prosecution of artistic and
literary forms which exert a destructive influence on our national
life, and the closure of organizations opposing the above made
demands.

24. We demand freedom of
religion for all religious denominations within
the state so long as they do not endanger its existence or oppose
the moral senses of the Germanic race. The Party as such advocates
the standpoint of a positive
Christianity without binding itself confessionally to any one
denomination. It combats the Jewish-materialistic spirit within and
around us, and is convinced that a lasting recovery of our nation
can only succeed from within on the framework: The good of the
state before the good of the individual.
[12]

25. For the execution of all of this we demand the formation of a
strong central power in the Reich. Unlimited authority of the
central parliament over the whole Reich and its organizations in
general. The forming of state and profession chambers for the
execution of the laws made by the Reich within the various states
of the confederation. The leaders of the Party promise, if
necessary by sacrificing their own lives, to support by the
execution of the points set forth above without consideration.

MAscists at it AGAIN, with Kennedy's old seat

Back when Kerry was slacking off on the people of this state, by running for POTUS, the Massachusetts corruptocrats decided that Mitt Romney might replace him, by Gubernatorial appointment. At the late, not-so-great Ted Kennedy's urging, they altered the law to strip Mitt's power to appoint Senators and put it to the vote of the people.

The whole argument was how it was a far more 'democratic' process.

Today, they voted to hand the interim Senate appointment power, prior to the special election, back to scary, Obamatron Governor Deval Patrick. So much for the democratic process! They are even trying to tack on an emergency preamble, to expedite the process.

Anyone out there in the U.S., who is outraged at the seizure of Coleman's seat by Acorn and Al Franken, should be just as outraged at this latest attempt to seize a crucial Senate vote.

Where is this country going?

The Wiles of Giles and the Relief of O'Keefe

These two are patriots and more important, geniuses. They have used radicalism against the radicals and really pulled off a coup.

They dug up all the dirt, calmly and quietly, ahead of time, putting it in nice bundles. It's way too late to lock down the situation back at the Acorn offices.

They did not dump the entire load, in one big scandal. They are treating it like a bottle of antibiotics, trickling it in medicinal batches. They release the first batch, watch it kill off the vermin, or make them scamper away. Then they release another batch, making the resistant bacteria wish they hadn't stuck around for the party. Brilliant!

Now there are so many feet in so many mouths, from the MSM, NYT, House and Senate, that they all gellin' like felons.

No matter what they do to this guy, with their usual Joe Plumber formula, it will reflect poorly on them. Joe the Plumber was rendering an opinion. These two have the goods. They have the skeletons. Nobody knows how many more they have to rattle around.

I am in awe. Sun Tzu would love this stuff. It is the application of minimal energy, to effect maximum results.

From IBD:

Could The Feds Seize The Internet?

By INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Wednesday, September 02, 2009 4:20 PM PT
Security: A Senate bill lets the president "declare a cybersecurity emergency" relating to "nongovernmental" computer networks and do what's needed to respond to the threat. Didn't they just collect our e-mail addresses?

I guess I am just a paranoid member of the VWRC. It has literally become a running joke at work. Everyone is using the following phrase:

"What if George W. Bush had/did/said/acted like { fill in the latest outrage from Count Barackula }?"

Questions for your liberal co-workers:

(h.t. to various authors, in e-mailings, for these)

  • If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?
  • If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?
  • If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to “Cinco de Cuatro” in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the fourth of May (Cuatro de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?
  • If George W. Bush had miss-spelled the word advice would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as “proof” of what a dunce he is?
  • If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on “Earth Day”, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?
  • If George W. Bush's administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually “get” what happened on 9-11?
  • If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?
  • If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?
  • If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again 10 times within years, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had accused, let's say, teachers or any other public servant that was just doing their job, of being stupid, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush installed a dozen 'czars' with power over spending, but no congressional oversight, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had used the Secret Service to contact all of the people who held signs, wishing his death, like Obama did, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had hired a proven tax-evader, to run the Treasury, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had allowed ACLU attorneys into Gitmo, with the pictures of CIA agents and their families, would you have approved? (H.T. Valerie Plame, before you answer that one)
  • If George W. Bush had set-up a White House e-mail account, to collect the names of those who disagreed with his policies, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush set-up a one-on-one with your kids, through government channels, complete with lesson plans and assignments, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush was eagerly awaiting the passage of a bill, giving him the power to disconnect you from the internet, would you have approved?

Shock and Awe

Does everyone remember this term from the Gulf War Strategies.

Wikipedia:

Shock and awe, technically known as rapid dominance, is a military doctrine based on the use of overwhelming power, dominant battlefield awareness, dominant maneuvers, and spectacular displays of force to paralyze an adversary's perception of the battlefield and destroy its will to fight.
It's interesting to note how well this description aligns with the Alinsky/Obama strategy for governance. If you can saturate the news cycle, even a media environment, that is becoming stale to your manipulations, will stall. You can then slip 19 things under the wire, while everyone focuses on the primary story.

Keep it in mind. It is an effective strategy. However, it can be seen and countered. It's important to keep focus on the fight.

Our Conservative Mandate

An insolurant...

I was watching Islam: What the West needs to Know, featuring Robert Spencer et. al.

The entire piece is available here:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-871902797772997781

I thought about president Barack Hussein Obama, as I saw this piece. I could see him, plucking those juicy plums of theology, that would reinforce and excuse his unconstitutional behavior.

I could not help but think that this religion, really is a form of government. It contains mandates and forgiving political deception. It rewards acts, that vanquish enemies by force. I can clearly see this religious appeal, to the slimy souls of politicians, lawyers and power zealots. It has built-in excuses for their behavior, sanctioned in the name of God.

I think liberals have adopted many of these elements, in their own perverse religion of progressivism. It makes me think of Jimmy Carter. It makes me think of Goebbels' crude manipulation of media. It makes me think of that manipulation, re-packaged by our contemporary MSM elite know-it-alls.

I see us now, bowing to the mideast. I see us forcing cap and trade, a moratorium on our own offshore energy supplies. This will not to benefit us, but it will solidify control over us. This is about the assertion of control and the abrogation of freedom.

I see this president, on his world apology tour. I think of England's institutionalized form of policy driven apology, worming its way through its rotting cultural guts, in the form of Sharia law at swimming pools.

There is a very strong gravitational and nourishing appeal, to young minds, to suckle on the seething milk of progressive hatred, pumped out for years, towards conservatives, libertarians, former president Bush and Constiutionalist judicial advocates. This drugged milk is still being squeezed out, in the Daily show, by the MSM, our schools and our vomiting celebrity culture. Whatever undigested pap, that pools on their teeth and gums, is then ritually spat, in our conservative faces. Those of us, who believe in the freedoms, the Constitution and the bill of rights, then have to wipe this ignorant spittle off of our faces and try to make do.

Palpable, ugly and vociferous attacks, by progressives, on those of us who exercise those freedoms, only reinforces my conclusion. I am getting very angry, along with many other fellow Americans.

Remember this?

It might be coming to a theatre near you.

The progressive movement now shares the very same mandate, which I saw in the Google video. Substitute 'progressive' with 'religious':

They have a mandate to lie in the name of their progressive goal. They feel compelled to deceive in the name of their progressive goal. They feel empowered to forgive anyone, working to destroy our moral anchors. They must destroy all anchors, established by the enlightenment and Western civilization.

They must pulverize our pillars, with maximum assertion of both size and speed. That means one shot legislation. It means legislation, built for maximum size and maximum speed. It must be achieved, at the limit of our dwindling democratic process; before that process collapses under the weight of hypocrisy and constitutional challenge.

Maximum Size

Why a phone book bill?

Why the overwhelming bulk?

Why not break it up, into ten one hundred page bills, that all must be debated and voted on, but can be scrutinized by the people?

Their answer is maximum speed, for our own good ...

Maximum Speed

What is the rush?

a) Is there some hidden, impending disaster, that the congressional geniuses know, but do not want to share with the rest of us? So much for transparency.

b) Is there something that the congressional geniuses want to pass, that is so ugly and repugnant, to our constitutional sensiblities, that they want us to skip over it quickly? If so, we can assume they are trying to cover up a one big screw up, that they created in the first place, with an even bigger screw up. Queue more elitist incompetency, layered with more elitist bureaucracy.

c) Congress are such a collection of lazy cowards, that they want to stuff all their dirty socks into a single drawer, even if it blows out the bottom and scares the cat. Pathetic. The rest of us work for a living. They can't even do their job for premium pay.

Every excuse you can think of, shines the ugliest light on Congress' work ethic, motives and long term aspirations.

This is why the bill hefts over a thousand pages long. It cannot be broken up and debated. It must must be expedited, in the interest of public concealment. Debate means.. well reasoned discussion, sometimes ugly democracy, vigorous analysis and general exposure of information to the public. This usually results in useful legislation, at the expense of some useless legislators. We can't have that. After all, useless legislators need a career and a health plan; a plan they did not force upon the rest of us suckers.

Apparently, our Solons have built an arrogant callous. It shields their their brain from thoughts that we humble Americans might be up to the task. Obviously the liberal elites agree.

The progressives always lecture the world on the unbridled corruption of capitalist power. Man, I am SO... EFFING... SICK.... of hearing this crap.

What power?

The progressives have all the power now... and look at the damn corruption!

When they tell us that Goldman Sachs is a pinnacle of capitalist corruption, we learn that this player has been a willing, prostrate, financial oligarchy in service to liberal politicians. Goldman Sachs formed a financial 'cartel', with the FED! It bankrolled Obama, with nearly a BILLION campaign dolllars, at five to one against McCain at just over 200M. It had an ex-patriate, drooling toady in Paulson.

We now learn, that the large financials have nothing to do with real capitalism.

They have everything to do with manipulating the money supply, along with their partner, the FED. We now learn the pile of money can change any moment, which is holding our financial recorvery, future and life savings hostage, by virtue of its ability to set value to all those things.

This is the manufactured crisis, coveted by Rahm Emanual, and Obama's Czars, without any congressional oversight or desire to oversee.

Think about that, as the real pain sits in.

This has NOTHING to do with true capitalism. True capitalism is about the freedom of human beings to trade their labors and their wares for a living, without having that activity regulated, extorted or fiddled poeticly, by Ivy league experts, until their entire nest egg can be stolen later.
It is about those human beings, using a currency that has a known, stable value.

These Ivy League Marxists (yes Marx was an economist) used their Ivy league expertise and eductation, to stick it right up Joe the Plumbers backside. They grabbed his wallet, and took off. I will never again, listen to somebody, touting the credentials of one of these 'grand institutions'. These geniuses engineered the destruction of our economy for their own political greed and progressive, Marxist ideals. It had NOTHING to do with real capitalism, because they redistributed all the power and wealth to themselves, through government and political machinations.

Adam Smith is my philosopher. If we have a true divine potential, it must be to maximize ourselves at the least expense of our neighbors. It does not mean we are selfish, it means we believe in opportunity and reward. The elitist, university Marxist professor class have maximized themselves at the expense of everyone else. They are pumping out parasite tort lawyers at a rate of 9 to 1 to engineers. Engineers build things and move humanity forward. Tort lawyers live off the distrust between human beings.

Fannie, Freddie, G Sachs and the Southern Poverty Law Center have NOTHING to do with capitalism. They are a near fatal parasite, invading the body liberty, and draining its resources.

True capitalism is opportunity to survive and fail in a universe that is worth living in, since it doesn't try to sedate you with TV, emotional drivel and pre-packaged excuses for your failure, left on your doorstep, until you put a bullet through your skull, or an Obama death pill through your liver.

We have a perilously fragile thread, about to break, in America, that supports innovation and discovery. We have a threatened cultural compass, that credits those who do the work, with rewards for their labors, lest they abandon the effort.

-- it even applies to health care, only it is a matter of life and death, for all of us.

Now That's Entertainment

The Blue Pill or the Red Death

You can listen to a real medical doctor, over at AT, about to abandon medicine, over Obamacare...

Or you can listen to Roger Ebert, that paragon of medical expertise, invoking Shakespearian images. You can read Roger and listen to him babble about how the non-Obamified system saved his pathetic life, but is not good enough for everybody. You can see how he was saved, without socialism or government intervention.

You can see Roger, wax poetic, in his ignorant liberal crusade against the quality of free markets and in favor of wrecking that life-saving system, for the entire middle class.

To be or not to be. You decide.

It would be nice if you could just be grateful for being here, with great health care, Roger. Stop pontificating about economic forces about which you are a complete ignoramus.

Nancy's Health Care Corner

An Insolurant. Live with it. Die eventually, probably from lack of proper medical attention.

And now.. The 'Red Skull' Nancy Pelosi
informs us that she 'has the votes' (Bloomberg)

Leaders are “making progress” with Democrats who want more cost cuts in the legislation, Pelosi told reporters in Washington today, a day after President Barack Obama met with a group of Democrats to try to convince them to back the plan.

To Democrats, cost cuts mean rationed socialism, not fiscal discipline. All bureaucrats will still get their slice of angel cake, while they keep their premium health plans. Everybody else will get an expedited appointment with, well... angels.

“I have no question we have the votes on the floor of the House to pass this legislation,” Pelosi said.

What this usually means, is that she's promised to pad another couple of hundred pages upon and between the current thousand or so. Nobody will read it prior to voting, anyway. Those pages will contain more juicy, ankle grabbing rape, in the form of treasury booty, scheduled for each American taxpayer and their collective brood of debt cursed children.

“We want to reach an agreement and go to markup in our committee,” possibly as early as tomorrow, said Waxman. “We have not resolved our issues, but we are getting close.”

The way to resolving the issue is to replace the single deadly bear trap, with a series of midnight leg-hold traps. By the time they are finished, the result will be the same. You will have to chew off a major appendage, before age 50, to escape from the waiting room.

Obama is looking for movement on Capitol Hill before holding a news conference at 8 p.m. today Washington time, where he will press lawmakers to carry out the most sweeping changes in U.S. health care in more than four decades.

Sweep the old, and infirmed and unborn right under the rug, into the acid bath. The only non-swept, un-changed health care coverage, will be covering congress.

He will say that Americans are counting on Congress and the administration to “get this done.” “They are looking to us for leadership,” Obama will say in his opening remarks, according to excerpts released by the White House. “We must not let them down.”
There is a rush to get it done, while the stimulus failure deflates. That failure, rushed to pump more expensive noble gases into the torn balloon of four decades of liberal loan guarantees. Barney's bubble is still being pumped. The dollars are still flooding out of the rip in the balloon. Hey! We got an idea! Let's do the same thing to health care coverage!

Obama again will argue that reining in rising health-care costs is central to future prosperity and economic stability.
No sir. We will not employ the proven methods of consumer feedback, tort reform and fostered competition to control costs. We will bring down the hammer of big government bureaucracy, instead.

Why?

Isn't it obvious?

Big government has such a stellar track record for controlling costs, with thousands on toilet seats, billions on crumbling tunnels and trillions on bad mortgage debt.

The overhaul effort suffered a fresh blow today in the Senate, when Republican Orrin Hatch of Utah quit bipartisan talks aimed at reaching a compromise.
So Hatch is now being partisan. Good! Tell him to loan a piece of his spine to Graham, who's now wilting into a limp douche, regarding the Sotomayor nomination.

The Blue Dogs on the panel “can’t support the bill as it stands,” Representative Mike Ross of Arkansas, one of the group’s leaders, said in an interview after the meeting.
The dog is man's best friend. Only real men work hard and pay their taxes. Remember that, Fido.

Indiana Democrat Baron Hill told reporters today that negotiators still have “a lot of work to do.” Yet Hill added he was “optimistic that maybe we can get something done sooner rather than later.”

Right. You want at least a whole twenty minutes of bitching on the floor, before you destroy twenty percent of the economy.

To help win over the Blue Dogs, Waxman agreed to a provision to create an independent commission that would set reimbursement rates for Medicare providers each year. Ross said such a body would take politics out of decisions on the federal insurance program for the elderly, giving Congress an up-or-down vote on any changes, without amendment.
And Waxman carefully left out the Obama health Czar, who will give granny a immediate-down vote on her cancer MRI. Don't worry, she will get some pills to help her pass-the-coil, instead of smothering in a hot French attic. Way to go, Barry! That's progressive!

During the White House meeting, Obama asked lawmakers to take “a favorable attitude toward his proposal” to set up the five-member commission, Waxman said.
Of course 'attitude' is not really an administration tool, used to appoint commissioners. White house chiefs of staff perform that meager function.

Today, one Blue Dog member, Tennessee Democrat Jim Cooper, called the idea “definitely better than doing nothing” because “Congress will never address these issues on its own.”
Yeah. Issues like illegal invasion of the country by health care seeking baby bombers, never get addressed by congress, thus creating a health care 'crisis'. It looks like Jim is ready to roll over for some bling.

Pelosi said the proposed commission is “appealing to a broad sector of our caucus” concerned about cutting costs. “But we want to do it in a way that respects the prerogatives of the Congress” and the president, she said.
That's the Nancy way of saying, it's our way, or the highway. That is... highway funds going to a state that is willing to go our way.

Now that's the Chicago way, right Rahm?

The current House plan, unveiled on July 14, would expand insurance coverage to 97 percent of Americans while adding $239 billion to the federal budget deficit over 10 years, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
There it is in black and white. You will not get to keep your private coverage. That's just an Obamunist pipe dream.

Obama ramped up the pressure amid concern that deadlines are slipping.

"deadlines are slipping" is a code-phrase for "his adulatory media persona is slipping".

So far, two of the three House committees and one of the two Senate panels with jurisdiction over health care have completed their work [crime] . When the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the Senate Finance Committee finish debate, each chamber can bring its version [insulting crap] up for a vote.

Obama asked Congress to pass measures before summer breaks slated to start July 31 in the House and Aug. 7 in the Senate. After each votes on a version, the two chambers must still work together to fashion a compromise version for final passage.
Hey, let's face it. The guy can only delay his Seppuku budget number report, from becoming public knowlege, for only so long. Sheesh.

Asked today if the House should stay an extra week in Washington in August to pass the legislation, Pelosi said 70 percent of Americans believe it would be a “good idea.” She declined to say how she felt about delaying the recess.
See the graphic above to get an idea of Nancy's feelings about the pressure being exerted by the unanointed public.

“We are waiting to see what the Senate will do,” she said. “But we are going in a forward direction.”
Note: It takes a forward step to make sure you plumet off the edge of the cliff, on the very first try.

The Senate finance panel is drawing attention now because it’s the only committee left with a chance of bipartisan consensus. And House members are reluctant to take a vote for higher taxes that may not be part of a final version.

“The danger, pretty clearly, is you end up with a piece of legislation down the road that’s different than what the House voted for,” said Representative Richard Neal, a Massachusetts Democrat.
It really is amazing how bold these clowns have gotten, regarding their public utterances.

This is what we call, on the childhood American living room carpet, a combination of musical chairs and monopoly. The congressmen want to be sure that, when the music stops and they don't have a chair, they get one of those 'get-into-a-chair-free' cards. You do the civics math.

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus of Montana has failed to reach a compromise with Republicans weeks after he initially planned a vote. Hatch said he’s worried that Democratic leaders might press for provisions Republicans oppose even if Baucus produces a bipartisan proposal.
Hey Orrin.. Duh.

“They’re going to pass two very partisan bills, and then put the crunch on Max,” Hatch said.
Yeah, dummy. They are going to pass very partisan bills, very partisan nominees, very partisan house rules, very partisan senate rules, very partisan media campaigns....

The game is called: 'We are going to chain and whip you, until you beg for pork and mercy." You either fight it like a man, or you polish your bondage leather.

Choose life fools. Choose it for yourselves and your constituents.

Obamanomic Benchmark #2

This is more hilarious than the Obama benchmark for unemployment that touts jobs created or saved.

From Politico:

Larry Summers cites Google search as progress

The number of people searching for the term “economic depression” on Google is down to normal levels, Summers said.

Searches for the term were up four-fold when the recession deepened in the earlier part of the year, and the recent shift goes to show consumer confidence is higher, Summers told Peterson Institute for International Economics.

Summers continued the administration’s push-back against critics of President Barack Obama’s handling of the recession, defending the economic stimulus package against Republicans critics who have tried to paint the program as a failure because it hasn’t stemmed the unemployment rate.

Did Larry see if the number of searches for "total economic collapse" or "bloody American taxpayer revolt" were up, instead?

Washington Post-er Child for Hypocrisy

The Post has been lauded for decades, for its' expose on the Nixon administration, by the venerable Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein.

What a difference a few decades can make. Now the same paper is discovered by others, selling access to another American presidential administration, through it's own staff.
It does not matter that they retracted the offer in light of criticism. What matters is, they did it in the first place, without even noticing how wrong it was.

The Post, Woodward and Bernstein spent those decades, until 2005, protecting the identity of their source, Deep Throat. Now, the paper is warmly embracing an administration, which is openly punishing and firing whistle blowers for exposing government corruption. This shameful pirouette, reversing any credible stand on ethics in journalism, is just another new outrage, in a string of new outrages.

We are all watching in horror, as the media re-shapes itself, through its staffing, into an Orwellian Ministry of Truth, serving this new celebrity dictator president. I have no idea what Woodward and Bernstein's feelings on the president and the Post are. All I know, is during these first horrendous first few months, their employer from the Nixon years, is becoming just another unctuous media adulation pariah.

This whole trend is turning the collective stomach of America. Let's look at some harvested quotes from Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein.

Certain political figures think when you call them and ask them for a comment; that you are somehow doing something that you shouldn't be doing.
- Bob Woodward
Now we feel that way about the media too.
The lowest form of popular culture -- lack of information, misinformation, disinformation, and a contempt for the truth or the reality of most people's lives -- has overrun real journalism. Today, ordinary Americans are being stuffed with garbage.
- Carl Bernstein, ""Guardian" (London)", June 3, 1992
I certainly agree with Carl on that one. I wonder if the Guardian is just another one of those big smelly garbage trucks, now delivering American garbage to Europe?
I believe Watergate shows that the system did work. Particularly the Judiciary and the Congress, and ultimately an independent prosecutor working in the Executive Branch.
- Bob Woodward
Now that the 'system' knows what worked in the Watergate scandal, it is making every possible effort, in heaven and on earth, to make damn sure that is not allowed to happen to the Obama administration.

We are in the process of creating what deserves to be called the idiot culture. Not an idiot sub-culture, which every society has bubbling beneath the surface and which can provide harmless fun; but the culture itself. For the first time, the weird and the stupid and the coarse are becoming our cultural norm, even our cultural ideal.
- Carl Bernstein
This presidency is proving that that process is near completion, with a nauseating success record.

I don't think there will ever be a permanent truce, but I believe the media needs to be more careful and be willing to count to 10 before rushing on the air or into print.
- Bob Woodward

The greatest felony in the news business today is to be behind, or to miss a big story. So speed and quantity substitute for thoroughness and quality, for accuracy and context.
- Carl Bernstein, In "Guardian," (London), June 3, 1992
Unfortunately Bob and Carl, this has proven to be unprofitable. Rushing to the air and print, ensures that damaging, unpopular junk science and junk economics can be squeezed into our sausage casing, before anybody has a chance to complain about that funky smell.

I suspect there have been a number of conspiracies that never were described or leaked out. But I suspect none of the magnitude and sweep of Watergate.
- Bob Woodward
How many conspiracies, exceeding all Watergate dreams, have been either stifled by choice, or leaked and ignored by this current race baiting executive, his media counterparts and his activists in the judiciary? Acorn, AIG, census taking, voter fraud, Wall Street, et cetera, cetera, cetera....

Increasingly, the picture of our society as rendered in our media is illusionary and delusionary: disfigured, unreal, out of touch with reality, disconnected from the true context of our life. It is disfigured by celebrity, by celebrity worship, by gossip, by sensationalism, by denial of our societies real condition and a political and social discourse that we the press, the media, the politician and the people are turning into a sewer.
- Carl Bernstein
Spoken like a true conservative, Carl. Maybe you should guest host on the Limbaugh radio show?

I'm not going to name some of my colleagues who are very well-known for their television presentation, but they wouldn't know new information or how to report a story if it came up and bit them.
- Bob Woodward
I can name a few: Keith Olbermann, Chris Mathews, Katie Couric, Anderson Cooper, Bill Moyers, John Stewart.......

If information is true, if it can be verified, and if it's really important, the newspaper needs to be willing to take the risk associated with using unidentified sources.
- Bob Woodward
Unfortunately Bob, the papers have been way too willing to use unidentified sources, provided by the likes of the Huffington Post and daily Chaos. The data is untrue and thus, cannot be verified. But what does that matter, nowadays?

Lawyers didn't seriously get involved in the Watergate stories until quite late, when we realized we were on to something.
- Bob Woodward

Now we have the opposite and more dire situation. Lawyers are getting seriously involved, very early in the process. Of course these lawyers are working for the administration and his party. Of course, these lawyers are engaged in the process of destroying rivals, like the former VP candidate, Sarah Palin.

Many people have their reputations as reporters and analysts because they are on television, batting around conventional wisdom. A lot of these people have never reported a story.
Bob Woodward
I swear to never call myself a reporter or analyst. I am a blogger who analyzes what I see, for the sake of my own civics education. However, if I were an insufferable left wing ideologue, people on TV and in the government would rush to call me a reporter and an analyst.

Newspapers that are truly independent, like The Washington Post, can still aggressively investigate anyone or anything with no holds barred.
Bob Woodward
How do you feel about the Post's independence today, Bob? Yes, today, as of this writing, knowing what we all know?

Nixon's attempts to order subversion of various departments was bound to come out in some form.

- Bob Woodward
Almost ALL of Barack Obama's orders subverting departments have come out in some form. The problem is, nobody in the media is willing to pick up the ball and run with it.

Nixon's grand mistake was his failure to understand that Americans are forgiving, and if he had admitted error early and apologized to the country, he would have escaped.
- Bob Woodward
Looking at today's situation, I would say Nixon's big mistake was in actually admitting any wrongdoing whatsoever. He should have boldly lied about, denied it outright and found some way to have his political minions destroy the both of you. That's the right way. The Chicago civil activist way.

Not a season passes without new disclosures showing Nixon's numerous attempts at criminal use of his presidential powers and in fact the scorn he held for the rule of law.
Bob Woodward
Now, nary an hour passes, during a normal business day, where Obama is not writing some criminally unconstitutional executive order, or appointing a mentally deranged sycophant or toady to a critical position, holding authority over the rest of us.

I hope to God that Bob and Carl are happy with Washington and all the comissars serving them in the Obama administration.

Meanwhile, the rest of us will plan on adding the word hypocrisy to the same list of tired, overused words and phrases occupied by like, excellent, cool and yuh-know.

Strange Bedfellows

I am absolutly stunned, by the Obama cabal's frightening level of media control. Even a despicable fool like Helen Thomas, is not fooled.

It is a sure thing that the immigration laws and Acorn will be used in this same fashion, to exert control over future voting.

Yes, It will be an Infomercial

This was ABC David Westin's reply letter to congressman Lamar Smith:

The Honorable Lamar S. Smith
Chairman, Media Fairness Caucus
Congress of the United States
2409 Russell House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515

Dear Congressman Smith:
Thank you for your letter of today’s date concerning our planned coverage tomorrow of health care reform in America. I am pleased that you agree that the subject deserves extensive and careful coverage. This is precisely what ABC News has given healthcare over many years; it is what we plan to continue tomorrow.

Yeah. By extensive and careful coverage, David means ABC is commited to extensively and carefully cover up any aspect of this subject and debate with the same sickly sweet progressive perfume being used by ABC and MSNBC to cover up the current steaming pile of dog poo called the Obama administration.

Unfortunately, you have found it appropriate to criticize a program that has not yet aired. [ Ed. It is still in the dog's ass ] Contrary to your assertions, this will not be “slanted” in any way – much less a “day-long infomercial” or “in-kind free advertising” as you allege. It will be a thoughtful, respectful, and probing discussion of some of the issues raised by the calls for health-care reform. We will include a variety of perspectives coming from private individuals asking the President questions and taking issue with him, as they see fit. We have heard already at some length (on ABC News and other outlets) from politicians and professional health care lobbyists, and there will be ample time to hear from them throughout the policy debate. I can see no reason why we should not hear tomorrow instead from some of the Americans most directly affected by the plans being discussed.

I cautiously await, without any Hope of Change. That last sentence tells me that ABC's analysis will follow the Michael Moore formula of a prefabricated victim parade. The parade will be designed to provide a sequential narrative, designed to maximize the view that our current system is flawed.

ABC viewer's will naturally be guided by their own sharply honed instincts to conclude that imminent and immediate government rescue, although imperfect, is the only viable solution. Did I mention it would have to be done immediately; I mean NOW, because everybody's reproductive organs will wither, crumble and blow away from global climate change if they don't rush the legislation through in midnight candle lit session of trillion dollar pork pulling.

Sadly, some inside government and within the private sector see every issue as material for a sort of political high theatre, to be used to gain votes or energize political bases or simply to raise funds. I would have thought that a subject as important as the health care received by the American people would rise above this sorry spectacle.

This venomous media parasite, spends years, trying to churn ratings for dollars, with 20/20, ABC news, running hit pieces on conservatives and marshmallow pitches at liberals with 'This Week with George Stephanopoulos". He then lectures those who want real debate over ABC theatrics, to reconsider their selfish motives.

How many times must this pathetic hypocrisy be endured?

Our citizens need and deserve more. We are proud to be making a serious effort to go beyond mere punditry or stylized, bipolar debate; we are proud to work for a network and a company willing to devote valuable airtime to serious consideration of a subject so worthy.

The coverage will not be valuable or serious, but it will be mere punditry with the stylized simulation of debate.

I guess pre-emptively denying the plan of attack, is the liberal media equivalent of the Bush doctrine.

Finally, on a note of personal privilege, I entirely reject your attack on my colleague, Dr. Timothy Johnson. Dr. Johnson has established himself over many years as the foremost medical editor in television news. His knowledge about health care reform is surpassed only by his commitment to the truth and to fairness. [Ed. Sounds like he's also already committed to re-forming it, even though no other system has served so many so well]
As for Linda Douglass, she did indeed cover Congress for ABC News. But she left us nearly four years ago to become a fellow at New York University and to work at the Rockefeller Foundation.

And when lovely Linda left ABC and took up a position in the Mahdi's administration, here's what she had to say to the Post:

After three decades as a television correspondent, Douglass is now on the inside -- but still not getting all the answers. She recalls Obama telling her that he would not talk to her, let alone the outside world, about the vice-presidential selection process, saying: "We're locking it down, we're buttoning it up."

Which is fine with Douglass: "That was so the people who are trying to claw me every day won't get anything. I expect to be kept in the dark."

Spoken like a true member of the flock, Linda. Ever been a Moonie?

I do appreciate your taking the time to express your views, which I will always welcome.
Sincerely,
David Westin

I predict that I will soon need surgery to roll my eyes back from the back of my ocular sockets.

Gag.
