Michael Yon's Dramatic Gates of Fire post

Go check it out here at his 'Gates of Fire' post. Thanks to PebblePie for providing the information here at her 'Michael in Combat' post.

Here's a really disturbing part of the piece.

... The terrorist turned out to be one Khalid Jasim Nohe, who had first been captured by US forces (2-8 FA) on 21 December, the same day a large bomb exploded in the dining facility on this base and killed 22 people...

That was in December.

...About two weeks ago, word came that Nohe's case had been dismissed by a judge on 7 August. The Coalition was livid. According to American officers, solid cases are continually dismissed without apparent cause. Whatever the reason, the result was that less than two weeks after his release from Abu Ghraib, Nohe was back in Mosul shooting at American soldiers.

It looks like Iraq is suffering the same PC garbage we see in our courts. Maybe democracy has arrived!

Now all we need is the domestic equivalent 'field of battle' for OJ Simpson style cases. Maybe chartered under the umbrella of homeland security.

Solution: Sniper across the street with a .50 Barrett and a boatload of ammo. As they come out of the courtroom, they're allowed to get into their vehicle then BOOM! You put out the fire, turn the car into a coffin and bury it. End of story!

I just want to ensure the sniper doesn't get caught performing his noble duty.

I read Michael Yon earlier today when I found him on another blog.

Riveting, to say the least.

Thanks for the advice. I'm still amazed at how it all went down...
I would like (just out of morbid curiousty) to know who those two soldiers were that just froze and left their commander there down bullet ridden, bleeding and out of ammo... God what they must be thinking of themselves... It's gonna be a tuff one to get over, if they ever do.

Simply reminds me of why, when the Left complains about abuse at G'itmo, I think... "O...K... What are we doing so bad now?" Apparently the Left must think we're just rounding up innocent people. Turns out the people we're rounding up have an intent to kill us.

Oh, right. We probably deserve it for, um, I dunno, something. Isreal, yeah, that's why we deserve it.

katekakes - The more links, the better.

pebblepie - Thank you for the original post.

fitch - It looks like the only long term solution is vigorous and tedious re-education through the first amendment. Sigh.

I'd prefer re-education through the second amendment. Heh.
